As the supporter of a seemingly cursed football team, the one silver lining to their seemingly imminent relegation nex season is that I'll be saving my self the cost of a season ticket. So... As a Brit / Yank player already possessing an M1A1, MP40, M1 AEGs and P08 and M1911 pistols what should I consider getting next and why?

I need cheering up given the score at the weekend :( so suggest away!

I'm tempted by the S&S Sten but not sure I like the internal hi-cap. Shame Warren doesn't do one that takes a mag (the MP40 ones would be close enough).

Other than that, on the grounds that I can't do Axis on principle (various relatives spinning in graves), it may have to be another Tommy with a 1921 kit for conversion to the Steve McQueen Para version inc two taped mags :) or something (gasp) a little more modern!

It would seem a No4 would fit in perfectly to your arsenal... you don't have a bolt action yet and they were much more common than the semis and full autos... ;)

Hmm I do quite fancy a bolt action for the odd bit of sniping but the No. 4 is a costly piece of kit that I wouldn't use much. My local site has a 330fps rule for everything (hopefully this will change sooooooon) so it would only be used a few times a year.

Had a look on RSOV and the k98 in wood for £55 looks a better option - could get 20 shells and some strippers clips and a nice sight (do the Tanaka ones fit though?) for the odd day of sniping fun? Plus I could also get a modern toy as well at that price :)

The Tanaka scopemount does not fit the Cheap K98 - already tried  The Chinese k98 has the scopemount receiver for the scope, but hasn't got the correct detailing to allow the Tanaka mount do slide into place.

Meh... the No4 is lovely though ;)

As for scopes.. hate 'em... try the gun without a scope first. You'll probably enjoy using it more that way.

Agreed, iron sights are much more fun - even with a decent bolt-action rifle, you'd only be shooting at beyond SMG range anyway, and irons are more than sufficient.

I would forget the scope and spend the money you save on extra bullets.

Okay... I'm now thinking of staying reasonably close to my WWII roots with a K98 and ACM Mossberg as a back-up (although it may be the cool shorty version plus a real steel floding stock)... That's two new toys for <£100 :)

If you were thinking about the Sten, try Gunman. I know he was thinking of making a Sten Mk2
I'm constructing a Springfield 1903.
How about a M3A1 Greasegun?
