Take both, and see which works better for you.

I've been drifting towards .25 of late for modern games. Was going to try them in my Stg this Sunday.

My Thompson seems to prefer .20s too.

One thing I will recommend: Don't overfill the mags - they'll jam. I use KA mids and fill a "pistol mag" speed loader, and use just that in each mag. That works out about 90-100 BBs.

I use .2s in all mine. The ppsh shoots great with them, as does the MP44. .25s in my mp44 just don't get that good range, as the hop is seemingly not very powerful.

I have used .25's in everything for quite a while. If a gun is doing 310 or less than .2's are probably the way forward. I also like heavy BB's in my Pistols as they fly straight and if someone is hit by a .3 gram bb they generally know about it.

But what type of BB's leads to other questions, as in what make. I generally started off only using Excel BB's but they dried up and have moved to Devil BB's and they have worked fine. (although quite a few stores are getting bags of excels in again!) I have seen some awful bb's though at sites which you can see cast (possibly the wrong word) markings on them. :slap:

I prefer .25s as well. Forget about relying on range. To misquote Robert Capa: "If your shooting isn't good enough, you're not close enough"

I found my Hudson Grease Gun also jammed with any type of .25 so i only ran .2's through her. Maybe its a Full Auto gas gun thing? The tighter inner barrel I installed might of for some reason affected it too.

It's more likely the weight/mass of the 0.25g BBs preventing the magazine spring from working properly.

springs on the mp44 mags are bad as well, spend most of the time winding them, even wth .20 bb's

I tend to use .20's in all my AEG's. I figure a machine gun shouldn't really be spot on accurate, so don't really care for groupings etc.

Pistols and rifles, i tend to use between .25g and .30g, as the single shot tends to need to be more accurate.

Did I read on a thread a while back, that someone recommended mixing .20 and .25 in their mags????
