Hello all,
Yes I am a noobie.
Okay that's over.
I don't have a weapon yet let alone UKARA but....
Could someone let me know why a Lee Enfield, of either type, is not being produced - at a reasonable and realistic price. ![]()
I'm sure many of you veterans would snap them up if they came along. I've read loads of stuff on this forum and not really posted but S&S stuff looks good but wouldn't it be nice to have a manufacturer? (no offense to S&S)
If nothing is manufactured, I would love to talk to you S&S but I am a noobie as already mentioned. I wouldn't be any good at the stuff you guys all do such as customising, making your own weapons etc.
A little friendly advice would be much appreciated and then hopefully I'll be able to meet some of you Vets at an event.
That would be great.
Thanks,

you pose a question that has blighted our little hobby from the beginning ,and there is only one answer ,low market demand, how long was it before we got the popular stuff like Thompson's and sten's ,Tanaka has only just released the first spring kar98k.as with all thing's there are rumors and tantalizing press releases but as yet nothing main stream and viable is out so it's over a grand for the ktw or the s+s at less than half that or one of his new budget kit's to build you'r self .so in short there is two more options than a year ago and in a year's time who know's.
don't let that put you off,a sten will get you started or people will often lend gun's out at events ,so get booked onto a game and join the fun.
armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

good find but seems there are no additional mag's on sale ![]()

Why is it so difficult/impossible to make the mags work? Why must the BBs be fed from a hidden mag?
Kitwhore files: S&S Lee Enfield No. 4, AGM Sten Mk. II, Tanaka Kar 98k, WE Luger P08
Wishlist: AGM Stg44, possible LE No. 4 gas project
That actually looks rather nice.
Shame it's gas, shame it's such low power, a few more fps would be nice.
However the mag... at the size they are there should be plenty of gas in there, so plenty of reloads.
No extra mags available, yes it's a pain, but in actual fact if you can top load it then that's a lot more accurate for how the SMLE was used for most of it's working life. A second mag was only ever supplied when it was first put into service. This soon stopped and then it was always top loaded.
I like the sound of the extra bit of umph needed to push the bolt in, that will also add to the feel. It's when you push in that last little bit that you actually cock the firing pin on a real one and it sounds like they've used the same mechanism.
At $320 it's not a bad price either.
If I hadn't already made my own airsoft SMLE then I'd be seriously considering getting one of these!

Same here, but I'm tempted to pick one up to convert to a No.4, I've got all the bits.
Assuming it gets some half-decent reviews. Equally, if it's top-loadable, I'm not bothered about the lack of mags.
Thanks Dadio, I am thinking of coming to the Crete event.
However I do not have a gun...and I do not have UKARA? Do the events such as Crete count towards UKARA?
Any of you thinking of making anymore Enfields? How reliable are they?
If not, what do you further think about this weapon? At just under £300 its not bad and they've found out the fps is 400.
Any tips on how you would go about changing the wood effect and the orange end?
Thanks for helping a noobie

No, UKARA is done by sites, not WWII events.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Dang nabbit.
It would just be so much easier to get rid of UKARA and let me purchase a gun.
It costs me 1/2 + of what I would spend on a gun to actually be allowed to then buy one.
You should just be a allowed to buy a UKARA paperwork or something. Then I could just go to more of your events.
Sad to think all of this could potentially go wrong because of the cost of guns. If it is such a big market why doesn't one
company take on the responsibility of making the basic guns for the 4 main factions.
Brits: Enfield, Sten
USA: Garand, Thompson, Carbine
Germ: Kar, Mp44, Mp40
Ruski: PPsh, Nagant or w.e other guns.
Makes me wonder...*sigh* can someone make me one??????????????

Josh's WW2 Games (Gunman) count towards UKARA providing you register with him. That way you can attend events whilst getting your 3 events in.

Apprently the fps written down was a stuff up its shoots around 420fps

ukara membership is just one of those hoop's we all have to jump through in order to enjoy our hobby ,it's not so bad really and as mentioned gunman games count plus he loans kit and rent's guns so it's a good way to start.
£200-250 is a low budget for a custom made gun i'm afraid, that just about covers the cost of the donor gun and parts without the labor cost involved.i would make you an offer but i'm shutting down customer guns after i've filled my current orders as i have a few other project's i've been putting off for a while .

In which case that's a lot worse... far, far too much.
It seems hopeless (falls on knees in rain head in hands)!
Does anyone know anyone who has a Enfield No1. or 4, that basically doesn't fire - a prop? a look near-realistic look alike?
I'm so desperate to get one. Could you not reduce the FPS on that gun? Anyone know of import tax on something like that?
I just want to hold one hahaha...they look so masterful and beatiful! Deactivated ones are waay too much.
And obviously the Japanese one or whatever.

Got both and to be honest that's all they, and indeed any weapons, seem to be in my hands. Never hit a thing with a rifle, not even sure if I've got close as I can never see the BB.

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.

You need to go through the requirements of the VCRA to own a look a like. More rigorous than UKARA.
If you just want a rifle to cuddle get a deact. No mucking about with going to games or proving you meet the requirements of the VCRA to buy a replica. You just need to be 18.

Thats not really the case.
Every Tanaka on Green fires "hot" (unless restricted) as the Enfield is GAS powered it too can fire lower just use a lower power gas?!?
For you boltie only guys it will be a case of finding out what GAS gets you to your beloved 350.
At Gunman events people will be looking to get 370 (as thats the max you have with no minimum engagement distance) And will potentially give you a slight advantage over AEG users.
Or use it too its full 420 FPS and just be mindfull of the distance you shoot someone at. The real steel will out range any MP40, Sten or Thompson so in my eyes the airsoft one should too.
Stu

*sigh*
Okay. Well I think I'm going to go to the Crete game with Steiner-man.
Just got to sort funds out etc.
Maybe people don't hit anyone with a rifle because the fps cap is too low? So the bullet goes as fast as they do in the Matrix and you can just dodge them?
Educate me on this reason?

I don't think you'd really be able to notice the difference at a personal level between 320 and 420fps. A good hop is way more useful than extra fps. it's more that you can't 'walk' your shots onto a target like you can with a full auto burst.
having played with 350-ish and 500-ish fps rifles in the past, I far preferred the lower power option. The range isn't that much of an issue, and having the lower power means no minimum engagement range and having to dick around with sidearms.
