Has anyone ordered de-acts from this co? Their stock and prices look excellent but I've never shipped in a DA before. Any one out there with experience? Cheers - HB.
Funny enough, i looked at their website yesterday and will place a small order with them on monday as they are currently closed. As i am German myself, i hope to be able to sort things, if there should be any issues. Lutz
Any de-act brought into the UK must be done to UK de-act standards?

Can you explain a bit more in detail as i am quite new to this? L
There are certain things that must be done to any specific firearm to render it deactivated to the satisfaction of the UK law.
SMG have different requirements to rifles, pistols differ from machine guns. This is normally known as the 'spec' or specification. The spec for the SMG and semi auto weapons has changed, you will hear of talk of new and old spec, thats what it refers to.
What is required by the German authorities may well be different to the British spec.
If you import a German spec deact, as sold by ZIB, into the UK and it does not have all the process as defined in the British spec carried out on it then, according to the law it isnt a deact, not to UK spec anyway. It may be considered a firearm. If you dont have a license for such a firearm you could be in trouble?
If you visit the ZIB website and read all the bumf you would have picked up an idea of this and you would have read the bit in bold type that says;
We do not ship deactivated weapons to UK, Netherlands, Danmark and Poland and generally no shipping outside the EU!?

Ok understood. Thanks.
I was rather looking at uniform items.
I know some people have used them fine, but others have been 'burned' (I am thinking specifically of their small wall Tent, which showed a picture on their site of what it should be, but was not what was sent at all.)
The photo now does show what you get for your small wall tent order and not the photo of another manufacturer's far superior version that was shown before.
Of course now they don't have any in stock!
I've had mixed results.
Their own brand splinter zeltbahn are pretty good for the money, certainly way better than the sturm version.
They have a reasonable line in repro German helmets in a range of sizes.
The customised helmets are hit and a mile wide miss in my case. The DAK helmet they sent me was a hideous yellow thing with mud 'glued' to the outside. That went back.
The Ant-z mantles are worth a punt if you are in the market for a greatcoat.
The wooden egg grenades are the wrong shape but the metal ones are fine.
They are one of those dealers where YOU must know what you are buying. Dont rely on them to do the research, almost near enough seems good enough for them. There are some treasures but you have to dig through the weeds.
They are not the quickest of companies, emails take time and so does getting orders out the door but they are reliable. You will get your stuff.
