Have received this today from Tony.

Hi Kieran
Got some bad news. Spoke to the estate manager today he does not want members of the public camping over. I asked him weeks ago and didn't hear any more but managed to get through to him today. They are playing silly buggers with us at the moment and he is changing arrangements to let us use the site on a Saturday. Such is the issues with site rental.
I am happy to meet you as early as you like on Saturday and help you set anything out that you need. That's no problem.
Really sorry but I know they have had issues with local kids getting on for raves etc.
Hope this is not too much of an issue
Best wishes
Tony

Just another thing! Can everyone check the travel implications please and get back to me urgently so I can get back to Tony as soon as I can.

Will be putting this on the page too I think that the majority will be travelling anyway and hopefully it want cause too many drop outs.

Bugger.

OK, best put up a message, as you say, most people will be travelling down on the day. I'll have a look at other sleeping arrangements,as I'd still be keen to look around on Friday. Failing that we'll just have to get down early on Saturday.

Cheers
Martin

Its up to everyone.
We have a little pot in the coffers but not enough to cover people for hotel expenses or anything like that.
I am feeling that it is going to have to be a case of getting there as early as possible Saturday morning. I will get as much prepared for the first mission as possible so wont take over time to set anything then we can get through as much as we can.
May mean we will have to re-cap for stuff after lunch but we can cross that when we come to it.

We seem to have a fair few missions starting from the safe zone, so we can have a conflab as required. I think the biggest change is to the breakout one, which is in the afternoon anyway so we can talk abut that on the day. I'll re-do the mission order and start times.

How early is early on Saturday? 7am? earlier? Dawn is around 0630. Might come and stay in Kettering anyway. I guess the main thing we need to put out is the pilot.

Cheers
Martin

I will get down as early as possible, Seven sounds good for me obviously need to confirm with tony but ha has said he will come as early as needed.

With regards the missions the suggestion made for the re structure was due to the low Russian numbers. but we seem to have evened out now so we can go with original if we need. That way pilot and boxes will not have to go out first thing and can be done at lunchtime. cause we will be waiting on people bringing stuff to finalise that set up anyway.

That way all the timings are done and gives us extra time to go through stuff.

That way all the timings are done and gives us extra time to go through stuff.

So we'll stick with the original mission order, routes and timings then?

0900 briefing
0930 move out
0945 to 1045 The Pocket (1 hour)
1100 to 1145 Water Towers (45 mins)
1200 to 1300 Bombardment (1 hour)
1300 to 1345 lunch back at the safe zone or in game
1400 to 1445 Pilot Retrieval (45 mins)
1500 to 1615 Breakout (1 hour 15 mins)
1615 Endex
1630 Debrief back in the safe zone

I've printed out four colour copies of the mission routes, and I'll print out four copies of the timings too - we can scribble on them as needs be. My general idea with these is that we'd need 15 minutes or so for everyone to get sorted and move out to their next start point, but we could cut it ten or even five minutes if needs be, but I think we should aim to hit the mission start times even if the ends slip a bit.

Cheers
Martin

This is perhaps a stupid question, but are we going to bother taking AEGs to this? I did a fair bit of shooting last time, probably too much for a CO, so I was thinking of just taking a pistol.

I've booked into a premier inn near Kettering so I'll be on site for 7am on Saturday (and I'm partly thinking I don't want to be leaving guns in the car or lugging gun bags into a hotel!).

Cheers

I was just going to pistol it but it does not seem like it will arrive in time. If anyone has a spare side arm then that will be good if not will have my rifle but only use it very rarely as you said Martin the more shooting we do the less we are guiding the game which is more important.

I'm going unarmed I think. I have the world's absolute worst market stall spring cock Colt 1911 that I might bring as a prop, though. :)

I've got my P38 springer, which is marginally more useful than the plastic model P38 I used to use as a holster filler (although it does have nice brass bullets in it!).

See you all tomorrow.

Cheers
Martin

P.S. I've done us a copy each of colour printouts of all the missions (the revised ones in the revised order) and the mission timings in the original order. We'll need to be careful we do them in the right order. We can sort it tomorrow morning.
