Im having a little trouble trying to work out what I could wear in this role. Im guessing 40s style jacket, tanktop etc. but in my size its always an interesting problem. Anyone got any ideas?

My current thought it to raid the local charity shops in the vague hope that something might fit me.

Also (I cant remember if this was covered before) do we have to provide the orange armbands? I figure thats a yes.

Cheers :)

I'd recommend charity shops - they usually have loads of old-fashioned stuff that could pass for 40s clothing!

Cords are good, or even some sort of denim working trousers. a donkey jack without any plastic patches would be cheap , or just a chunky nuetral coloured jumper. Browne and grey popular for the period !
That's the nice thing with being a civvie, there no set uniform , the look is entirely open .

Fine by me but I think people costantly throwing up may put a damper on the game :D

Ilove my kilt, any reason to wear it...

Why not try a blue over all, the cheep type, with a belt over the waist to hide the elastic and an orange armband and headdress of your choice or an old cord suit again with an orange armband

Good point - blue boiler suit and a big belt - you can be the local car mechanic then :)

If we have commandered all the private cars we will have a desparate need for civvy mechanics. We need to keep the local economy going - we are occupying a country not destroying it!

Can anyone tell me what the temperature is like up there at the moment? I've been living here in Uganda for a year so even a warm day is likely to leave me shivering. Currently planning on old-man jumper over shirt and tie on top of brown slacks. I'll likely bring one of my sturdier pipes along to smoke, and some old fashioned glasses if I can find them. Canvas satchel for my 'tools' (I'm planning to be a cobbler).

If you're used to Ugandan temperatures I'll say one thing....

Pack for this game, as if you're going to the bloody Arctic! ;)
