Christ - I wish this was a weekender!
Advanced regen points sounds good - Gucci had a 'turning the signs' thing in the last Vietnam game but it's only purpose was to gain points, ARP's gives much more incentive.
I think I know where the North end of the bridge is - isn't that going to be close to the glider landing site?
Have you taken into consideration that there may be a car boot sale at one end of the site, at least until lunchtime?
I'm not sure if a DWR without an arm band should be killed by accidental fire. Certainly the culprit should be but this could be used unfairly by gunning anyone with or without an armband.
Very much like how things are going though!

Ps my mistake but its DRW - Dutch Res Worker not DWR ![]()
The idea of the RAP is that norally you get 'second life' with a bandage yeah, well with the aid post it means that you can go back to first life and still keep your 'second chance'
Baisclaly if you're hit in a firefight you get bandaged then you have two choices, hold out and if you're hit you're dead or go part way back to the post for a 'full heal'
It gives wounded players an incentive to pull out of positions and not hang in to the death so to speak.
Especially prone to capture roles like officers.
The PIAT so far is planned to have a radio controleld charge on top of the van/apc. Any uk troops wiht the launcher can them blow up the armoured attack.
The adavanced regens mean we can put them in some lovley building that nornlly never get used as they are just not tactically useful
putting a regen in them makes them wort figthing for and occupying
the offices near the bridge being a prime example
i hadnt thought about the car boot, where is that, up past the trailers?

Oh and the being in your house rule was ot try and make the doctor usuable to both sides and Rich and i felt it would add more roleplay.

Car boot - turn right as you enter the site (instead of left towards the SZ) in the large hard standing area twixt the pipe storage area and wood yard.

Develop the rules and maybe have a chat ?. As with Skorzeny , worth the try but dependant on players ot go for RPG.
If they are any use I have an aerial photo and site plan of Phoenix Urban (not publicly available).
Guy's right of course to emphasise simplicity. On our first meeting with Gucci I think his wisest words were along the lines of the simpler the better.
Of course the rules are very much dependent on the scenario so it will be interesting to see what develops. My initial reaction still stands - looks like more than enough for a weekender - as we did for the UN weekender and will be doing for the Titans weekender where we have the luxury of time to develop scenarios and it is impossible for folk to run about full tilt for 20+ hours!
Any way, it's looking interesting - don't forget the Axis, it's not just Brits v Germans it's also Germans v Brits!

Not forgten them at all, thats just my inital bits, Yith and i tlaked about it and i think we should have a dressing station for the axis as well bbut rich isnt so sure

could you mail me the plan dave

Not forgten them at all....
I know, I know - Gucci forgets about the NVA and VC though, the scenarios barely mention them!
Maps sent.

These rules are actually different from what me and gadge discussed on the phone... fair enough it was just a quick conversation... we have a LOT more to discuss... this really is just the start of a brain storming session.
I see where you're coming from with some of this guys and we will discuss it a lot more...
Okay... so we've been thinking about allied stuff a lot... have you guys got any ideas for the axis?
A few quick comments off the top of my head.
I agree... I don't like forcing players to stay in their place of work for any amount of time... However it would be cool to have those places signed up nontheless. It would give the DRW something to fight for, if not in rules, in their heads... Could also be used as their starting position.
I hear you about the searching of buildings... it is perhaps too much for a single day game. Perhaps have the dutch keep their weapons in their regens? Being they know the city well, multiple regens for them sounds about right! Maybe link this with the places of work?
Guy.... Gadge tells me Kermit is making some 2" mortars or something...
I'd prefer the medic to be a bit more mobile. We're going to have someone running this after all. Phoenix have a WW2 style stretcher. I think as long as the patient lies on that then the medic should be able to work anywhere!
I imagined the doctor being a DRW, but if captured by the Axis then he could be forced to work for them? Not 100% sure about this... it was an off the cuff idea...
The reason I didn't think that the axis would need a medic is that they are not trying to hold on to the bridge area without support for a long time. The allies are... It would be a great help to them as otherwise their regen is waaay out on the airfield. I imagined the axis maybe having a couple of regen points... maybe just one in the morning, but two in the afternoon... to maybe simulate the axis forces closing in.
I figure the big thing axis are going to have over the allies is vehicles... at the very most I think the allies could have oddball's jeep (and then not for long... how about its transporting Urquart from the landing zone to the hotel and it crashes... he goes missing?)
The axis will get the transit and Guy's landy!
Think long and hard about giving both sides vehicles, I've used them a lot in 24 hour games , but mainly for troop transport. Their use is fraught with problems , not overcomable but perhaps talk to me about what they are there for and how they will be used.
What about this Stuart as set dressing , it would be mint IMHO .
DRWs I would expect to fight all day long with guns, whilst it might be nice for them to do sneaky beaky stuff I will expect the players would want to do more than just wander around adding flavour. Like the idea of signing the building ot be players shops, but other than a wry giggle not sure it needs incorporating into the game per se .
Kermits making a PIAT apparently - not sure why, for use for Gadge afterwards? Prefer to makes props myself, there's no ambiguity about who they belong to etc and they are there for next time too .
Medics/ Field Hospitals/ Stretchers all good , look forward to seeing some more concrete stuff.
Hows the game scenario coming on ?
