I'll be going as German for this one, and in the interests of uniformity it would be nice if some of us could go as a unit.
Although the game scenario allows SS and FJ, Bastogne was in the 5th Panzer Army area of operations so regular army is most likely, 2nd Panzer Div, Panzer Lehr, Fuhrer Begleit Brigade and 26th VGD.
Anyone fancy going as Heer panzergrenadier? There were bits of GD in the FBB so we could even break out the GD shoulder boards again? Failing that, we could always do regular infantry from 26th VGD.
I'm easy really as it is just a matter of swapping shoulderboards. Thoughts anyone?
Cheers

It would be good if we can field a full Alte Hasen squad for this with a mix of Kar98 and STG44's with an MG, then we could try to implement some proper tactics. I like the idea of 26th VGD with torque and greatcoat but if we went panzergrenadier we could legitametely have 2 MG's
Happy either way but think we should stick to Heer for Bastogne
I can do infantry or Pzgrenadier but I do like the idea of the 26VGD. The whole volkgrenadier thing fits in well with us- often more automatics than normal, smaller units, and a wide mix of age and experience.
I still need to get my pass out from my Gruppenfurher / mother of my child, but Heer works best for me. I also like the idea of 26 VGD and I agree with Larde, it works better for us as a 'look'.
OK, 26th VGD it is. Bear in mind the 26th was given the title 'Volks Grenadier' as an honorific, not because it was slung together from old men and boys equipped with cardboard boots IIRC it had the standard VolksGrenadier TO&E though.
Unlimited ammo is going to be entertaining perhaps we just need two MG42s and a hard cart loaded with BBs....

Well I dont know about two MG42's but I will be able to supply a MG34 and a MG42 if someone else fancies going as a support gunner, progress well under way
hand cart optional
It was still made up of large numbers of transfers from the Luftwaffe & Kriegsmarine so was still a bit mixed.
I've not seen anything about unlimited ammo, I'm not sure I like the sound of that.
Well, it is a bit vague:
mag rules are lenient yes to hi and mid caps as at some point you WILL have to rely on a resupply - it's tactics, atmosphere that we are wanting here - not a blat fest but it doesn't matter how many mags you have or capacity but how good you and your section are!!!!!!!!
so perhaps we shall see. I will post a question on the question thread.
Cheers

A few of us in our gang are waiting for this game to develop before booking. Details are vague but I PM`d the organiser to put the details on a template format as per other games on here and he changed it soon afterwards but not fully.
We would like to see some sort of `Booking thread` so we know who is going. I know he is not running it on this forum but perhaps we could put our own thread together and update it as `regulars` book. There is safety in numbers.
As per the kit thing Heer FJ SS it doesn`t matter.

When my MP41 is finiahed anytime soon I might undertake a project of making an FJ airdrop cylinder which had wheels on it we could all then put our kit in it and wheel it around the battlefield, unless we have been taken to the rear lines when hit. Whatever that means??

Cool Idea Is that one cylinder each?

You know me Tim love making things who knows??
I'm in for this one, it'll be a nice change to be a player not an organiser. Happy to badge up to join the majority and will be using a Kar98
I can do any, but 26th VGD sounds good to me.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Right, well it looks like we'll need to do what the US players are doing and set ourselves up as a 'group'.
26th VGD it is.

Good links Gordon, now if someone were to make one of those handcarts........
Too much camo, IMO. However, I will take care of the unit cat.
