I've written the following to try to get across what ths event is about , and to let people know what they are letting themselves in for ...it'll make more sense when you see the site
CiA endeavor to bring something new to Airsoft with every game , and THFBTB is no exception . This game will be far from a normal day game’s experience, and in some ways more demanding .
We have access to 1200 acres of quite densely wooded hills , which accurately represent some of the terrain the partisans and Germans fought through on the Eastern front .
Both sides will operate from a fixed base , where you will be expected to camp , and both will have access to vehicles for patrol and transport. However the game will consist of a lot of patrolling and ambushes on both sides, with a rolling regen of 20 minutes to avoid long treks to find regen points. The site is ideal for this style of play , and will more accurately represent the partisan type of warfare than the large assault/defence more familiar in other games. As both sides search each other out , the possibility of sudden attack will make each step critical .
Firefights will be intense , but not continuous , and if the thought of walking 4-5 miles over the weekend fills you with dread , this game is probably not for you .The weekend’s missions will be planned to build up to an exciting climax on the Sunday, hence to get the most from the event, players will need to pace themselves over the full 24 hours.
There will be also be some night fighting, and for the first time we would recommend if you have a tracer unit this might be the WWII game to use it . The partisans actions were marked with a certain level of viciousness on both sides, that terror and the fear of instant death is what we are looking to recreate.
We would like to think that the intensity of stalking and tracking your enemy, and the violent small unit actions that ensue, coupled with living within a 1943 setting will appeal to the more dedicated style of WWII player.
Problem with Tracer units is that they will look, without exception, shite on MP40's and Thompsons.

Agree Yes they will , so only put em on after dark !
Shooting unlit BBs in the dark is a 90% waste of time , tracer would be more historically allowable (althought technically on on support weapons and no use for single shot) , and make for a more interesting firefight ! We can disuss more when you see the site ?
Other than that do you think as a warning of what you are letting yourself in for this has some merit ?
After CR, definitely. Leave them in no doubt whatsoever as to the nature of this event.

Agreed. A detailed minimum required kit list would be useful too I think. From a practical point of view (cooker, basha/tent, sleeping bag etc) rather than uniform and guns.
PS: WTF does THFBTB stand for?
The Hunt for Boris The Bastard ....the erm..... working title I've been using
