Battle of Aachen October 1944
Part of the Siegfried Line the main defence of Germanys western boarder. The Allies are hoping for a quick capture of the City and a move
into the Ruhr area. The task of taking Aachen fell to 30th US infantry and 1st US infantry supported by 9th US infantry. After heavy bombardment by the Allies it had little effect on the German pillboxes and strongpoints.
2nd October 30th infantry began its advance taking on heavily defended pillboxes one at a time painstaking slow and taking heavy casualties all the time fearing a German counter attack, the heavy resistance had not been expected.
As in the battle for Aachen the Allies are pushing forward on all sides of the German lines. The Germans are putting up a brave defence, holding all areas with fierce fighting, counter attacking and ambushes, eventually they do end up being pushed back to defend Aachen.

Though a US arena, to boost numbers British forces will be included, also Volkssturm (in period civilian dress with arm bands) to boost German numbers, US Airborne to be included.
