Since this came up on the public side of the forum...
The way I see it is that certain aspects of the day are going to need to be driven. By this I mean that to make the game 'work' as be expect someone who knows the 'script' needs to be in control. If you know the plot you aren't going to be able to enjoy the game. It therefore follows that we need to be in command - we don't have the benefit of having marshals/site owners doing it for us.
So - Gadge in command of Brits, Steve/US, me and/or Guy Axis. No problem allocating 2ic's on the day or during booking but we MUST be in control.
Sadly, the penalty of running an event is going to be the lack of any surprises. Doesn't mean it can't be fun though!
Anything experiences we can share from your weekender Guy?

Yep - you can be a player or an organiser , trying to do both & you will probably end up upset.
To decide which one you really would prefer ask two q's
1 How can I make this the best game of airsoft I have ever played ?
2 How can I make sure the punters have the best game of airsoft they have ever played ?
If you think the answer is the same then you're really a player not an organiser .
If you recognise there is a big difference than you are probably better off organising.
It's obvious really, but even Ian Wermerling struggled with the difference at times The temptation is the play the sort of game you really like assuming that everyone else will think it's great too . I think we need to direct the gameplay to a degree to ensure that everyone who puts in the effort is rewarded .
It's the same with the club off road do's I organise, there is always some who think it too hard, some who thinks it's too easy , but as long as they all feel they've had a good day out then the events generally work and people come again .
Talk more on the 14th .
These sound like wise words methinks.

Yeah, I want to make the game good for the others really, otherwise I wouldn't have got involved in organisation.
When I helped devise and run the FB International game the other side commander and I were in constant contact to keep the game running well and prevent bogging down. You can't really compete as a commander if you want the players to have the benefit of the game.
S

Commanders confirmed as
Steve -OC Allies
Yith 2IC
Dave OC Germans
Guy 2IC
All will have radios to communicate between us and the marshalls for game purposes only .
Might be worth posting this on the open bit .
Just call me Colonel Sink. ![]()

I'va already put notes on who is commanding in the booking thread...
