Ok all.
Can we now please confirm that all the battle plans are finalised and post it all below. Anything new that's been added or any alterations need to be made clear as I am going to write up my briefing notes and a plan of the first 5 minutes action
today and tomorrow.
Did we sort out a different map in the end or are we going with the one posted?
As for the sub-plots, I've printed out my two (won't have time to do anymore I'm afraid!) and associated info. I've also printed off some demoralisation material for a bit of a safe-zone laugh, and will be sorting A5 maps for everyone on my side. Was considering a trip to Ikea to get some of those pencils they seem keen to give away! ![]()
If there's anything really pressing that you think I may have missed please let me know. It's more important that we work together to give a good day to the players than try to beat one-another's game don't you agree?
Looking forward to this!! The weather forecast is good, if somewhat warmer than anticipated, and I think we're going to set the bar for WW2 themed days here.
For the record it's been good working with you guys on this, even if I've been somewhat distant in my contribution, and I hope we all enjoy the day as much as I believe the players will.
Here we go guys, the final push.
Woohoo!

I echo your comments, I reckon we've formed, normed, stormed and hopefully will perform on Sunday ( blame the cheese on the MBa
)
Wording of orders has not changed, you will recieve them "officially" from me at the event , along with some maps .
& I agree, having a good day , full of the feel of the BotB is more important than winning . Note how the usual ribbing has not developed here on this forum , I reckon all want a good "in period" day .
PS Maps are the ones posted although I thought we'd agreed to limit maps to a few per side for commanders and section leaders , rather than everyone ? This was the plan here in Germany .
Ah yes, I think I'll give two maps per company. One for the NCO and one for a designated 2i/c.
One will most likely get lost/farked up anyway.

The breifing maps I have done are re-drawn versions of Guy's - 2'x3', two per side (can scribble on one in the morning and use a fresh one in the afternoon).

Quick question:
There is mention in the briefing of the afternoon game that a British Staff officer who parachuted out of a plane carrying SHAEF plans is somewhere south of Bastogne.
Just so I know, what will be there and what will need to be retrieved? Must have missed this at the pub discussion.

Er... I was going to check on the final orders... where are they?
(a link would be nice)
It's the US orders posted by Guy here: http://ww2airsoftuk.s3.bizhat.com/viewt ... 2airsoftuk
And the German orders posted here: http://ww2airsoftuk.s3.bizhat.com/viewt ... 2airsoftuk

ta!
Its it a good idea to mention the commandos in the allied orders? I thought we were trying to keep them secret.
I presumed that they were for our infomation only.
I will give the line just after that about being vigilant and reporting any unusual activity.

Answers typed too quickly -
1 SHAEF plans are in a black 37 pattern backpack , they are obvious when you see them ( they have plans in them) thats what needs to be recovered in the bag - which I want back !

Its in the intel , I think it needs to be said otherwise players may get pissed off that they weren't warned about turncoats , "you shot me you twat and I'm on your side, I'm not taking that hit" ....... "no I'm not" etc etc . I would suggest you don't dwell on it in the brief , people will either pick up or not .
I'm not sure how I'm missing this, but:
The briefing mentions the need to defend the QRF fuel and ammo dump, is this the CP?
Also, am I right in saying the Allied CP is St Vith?
Yours full of cold and slightly confused.
S

No to both .
The QRF will be in the vicinity of St Vith / hole in the wall . I wouldn't want it guarded by more than a couple of men as it's a minor target that may be invaded by the commandos .
The CP is down the hill from Trois Ponts, against the back wall near "the stone " . We were going to put it up on the ridgeline but at the pub we considered it would be too easy a position to regen from .
German CP is the far side of Malmedy , so both sides will have a trek to regen making it fairer.
If this is a problem in the am game we can look to change it at lunch .
