Yep new and what we've been waiting for for a long while.

Brit kit will now be that little bit more affordable.

Interesting, hopefully it's of a decent thickness. I'll pick a set up after new year and see what the quality's like.

Yeah... from the pictures it looks good. The only concern is the positioning of the belt loops on the back. They're a bit wierd...

:)

BTW, it shouldn't really be very thick, but the weave should be tighter than sanjay's and the thread stronger.

The colour on those looks good from the pics :)

i was thinking more in relation to the Keith's German stuff, the knees on mine are going threadbare and i've only worn them about 4 times now.

Bugger... just spotted a glaring mistake.

On the blouse theres a "button tab" at the neck. This wasn't introduced until 1946 as far as I can see.

It shouldn't be too hard to get rid of, but will be really noticeable when the collar isn't done up. :(

(Hmm actually it looks like it can be buttoned out of the way)

And they've used '49 style round-wire waist buckles (like SoF) instead of flat/pressed buckles which Sanjey has managed to get hold of and use. But for the price that's still ruddy good.

Why? It costs £70 delivered, or a better on P40 from SOF is £80, for a tenner i'd rather get it from the UK.

Round wire buckles are perfecltly fine for 37 pattern

Aye but you can do the whole war with a 37 (that and it looks a lot tidier) whereas the 40 pattern is no good for dunkirk era re-enactors

Personally i think its hard enough to look smart in battledress as it is wihtout having to have the economy/austerity version :)

Well, I've ordered a set so shouldn't be too long before Yith gets to cast his expert eye over it. That button collar tab thing looks weird - I'd be interested to see period photos that show it, but as Yith says, should be fixable if necessary.

You misunderstood - I meant 'no more buying for the next five years once I've completed my British kit'. :D :D

Any way, glad I ordered it yesterday - got robbed by the dentist today for a £450 crown so now I will have to say NO MORE KIT  (for a while)

There's been some discussion as regards this over at the wwii re-enacting forums.

http://www.wwiireenacting.co.uk/forum/v ... sc&start=0

It seems that they think he's copied Canadian or New Zealand '43 pattern, but made it in British serge.

Anyway the main fault on the blouse is the collar tab. It should be replaced with 2 hook and eye fastenings.
