my serge blouse from keith arrived-
chest fits fine, sleeves about 4' too short!
I can't replace the sleeves with my '49 pattern blouse as the colour and weave of the HK serge does not match!
in all a very poor quality purchase :(

4 feet too short! WoW!

(I assume you mean 4" ;) )

Just tell him and swap or get your money back.

sorry, it is indeed 4 inches too short!
by the time I pay to return it via registered delivery I will have paid as much as I would have had I bought an sof blouse!
will order an sof blouse tomorrow!
the hook and loop fittings at the neck are missing the loops! and the sleeve has mud spatters all up the inside!
last time I buy from HK!, item to be returned as I wouldn't even be able to use it as scraps because the weave and colour is very different from my sof para trousers and my 49 blouse :(
now all I have to decide is do I buy '37 pattern or '40 pattern?

Send it back slowest cheapest post.

Its not going not cost you more than a tenner.

If you dont you've lost your money.

If you do you might get a refund/right size.

At the very least give Keith a chance to respond/make you an offer before writing it all off.

Also beware of the SOF smocks as the sleeves and body length used to be long-not an error or mistake on their behalf-they claim they make them in a slightly more modern fit and not exact military sizes.

Still cracking blosues though :D :D

Before doing anything else contact Keith tell him what's wrong and ask what he's prepared to do about it, on one occasion I got sent the wrong size M40 jacket and the supplier simply sent me the right size without asking for the other one back :D .

its a small with very short arms! should fit anyone with very short arms and a 38" chest.
the sleeves measure 22" from shoulder (epilettes)to the end of the cuff. (more than 5" too short for me!)and a whole inch shorter than he listed them as being, I figured he had measured the inside of the sleeve when I read the description, afterall, who apart from a fat child could fit into it, most people I have come across have arms in proportion to thier build.
if he's tailoring them to original patterns what has happened to our arms in the last 60 years?! I know generally we are a bit larger. but have our arms grown in length by 4'-5" since the mid 40's?!
my '49 pattern has 27 and a half inch sleeves, is a size 13 and fits like a glove! I could have it converted but having seen a couple of 49's that had been done they did look a bit scruffy.
I will buy an sof '40 pattern and hope the sleeves are not too bloody long!

Yeah but as a counterpoint Dave's is fine on him and looks perfect, I've got pretty long arms and find if i buy a spearhead 'medium' i have to let the cuff down an inch usually.

sof '37 pattern arrived this morning, it fits pretty well and the sleeves ARE the corrct length for my arms!
I think it would be worthwhile re sewing all the buttons with linen thread bfore I loose them during play.
much happier!

at least the us officers tie that came from keith was the correct length although very, very thin polyesterish material and no lining although I'm unsure as to what they were made of or if they were lined, I'll save that question for the us kit section!
now I'm waiting for my No4 and for tim to finish my sten (I popped round to crack the whip yesterday to find him milling out the upper receiver :D ), soon I will be able to chuck some lead back at the jerries!

Aye and a lot of chaps used to replace the orrible thin brass buttons with the plastic ones as the brass buttons had a tendency to cut through thread and the buttonhole stitching!
