Not sure who else got to the sale back in November. There was a quite a bit of stuff but mainly 49 patt BD. However, there were a load of RAC converted helmets (some Polish Eagles still on - Bridge Too Far?), with liners and chin straps for £20. It might be useful to contact them if you are in the market for the airborne look. I believe i saw quite a lot of Heer stuff as well. Its worth a punt.

I should be going to this.
However I'm sure I was told that there would be no webbing or helmets at this one?

We shall see :|

However jackets, shirts, trousers, coats and the like are supposed to be there.

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

That's probably a good thing. It was a bit of a rip off for webbing with each piece being charged at a tenner. Best to take your time if you can to go through stuff and not pick up the first thing (my mistake - RAF and Amy greatcoats were Belgian and French respectivelly -but in good nick and only £20 each). Go early - I got there at 0800 and there was a massive queue.

Post war Mle 47 I should think. based on the US Coat.

There were some button back greatcoats as well, me and Kroot got one each, he got the single breasted Mle 38 (or the"Oh my god there is a war comming and we have to cloth 3 million men" austerity model), I picked up a double brested Mle 22/30 (better specified all round in build, cut and finish).

Theres a guy on Ebay at the moment that has been listing helmets bought from there constantly.

He has made a tidy profit so far.

If you werent allowed to take bags/rucksacks in with you beats me how he managed to carry so many helmets out of there

Blimey just looked at this £65! I really should have filled the bag with helmets - there were loads of'em. Ah well I got one for myself so I shouldn't be greedy.
