Evening all

Slowly putting together my kit so I can hopefully attend the event in June. Was looking at webbing prices on sabre and saw they had australian battle dress from the 50's for a reasonable price(even if its just the jacket or trousers for that price). But cant seem to find much in the way of pictures. so does anyone know what it looks like and how similar it is to the brittish ww2 stuff?

thanks

Rhys

Its more or less identical cut and material but in a greenish colour rather than the wartime khaki.

Id go for em If I were you, they are OK for airsoft, but dont forgt that it will be very warm in june(last year topped 30C) so wool might not be the best material to skirmish in, I skirmish in as light a fabric as I can get away with, denims this weekend just gone and that was still very warm.

hrmm well would fading them bring them more into line colour wise?

and I was more thinking just for the trousers than anything as I plan to get a denison smock for my upper half :) would the trousers still be fairly toasty?

Ausi trousers should be ok to fade, but take care if bleaching.

You will need to drink a lot of the wet stuff if that is how you will skirmish between april and october, but it should be bang on if you get the colour right.

The only other difference in the ausi BD trousers was the fob/ compass pocket on the front right leg, and that cannot be seen under the dennison anyway.

You might want to were a pair of surplus long johns under the bd as the greek and austrailian patterns had a rather more course fabrick than the british. If you need any I can send you a pair for whatever it costs to shipp them.
