Can anyone reccommend a where to get good 1940 trousers from. Whats reccommended ? I've seen a number of examples e.g. SoF, Sutlers Stores ( made to measure ) etc. Whats best in terms of correct weight and colour, cost, and last but not least, wearability and comfort. Also whats the opinion of wearing Denims during the hot summer months. Also is it true that Airlanding Brigade troops wore a mixture of infantry and para trousers ? Lots of questions, sorry fellas, trying to get it as correct as my rather meagre finances will allow ( gotta do alot of overtime !!!! )

:D

You pay what you can afford... the better stuff is more expensive, simple as! There's no ideal unless you have unlimited funds. All of them have their issues.. it really depends what you're after... As for comfort... they're all itchy scratchy wool. You get used to it, believe me! (I wear it regularly and I'm actually a slightly allergic to the stuff!)

WPG and SOF are okay and on the cheaper end.
Replicaters is generally accepted as too poor to bother with...
Pegasus and Dickie Knight are generally regarded as the best.
Warhorse is probably between WPG/SOF and Pegasus/Dickie Knight...
Not sure about Sutlers.

Though everyone has their own opinion on it!

Generally fine...

Yes 10/1 Normal to para... I suggest getting standard trousers as they're much more flexible as regards usage... i.e. they have no insignia on them so can be used for almost any tommy impression.
