hey guys, just getting my kit properly started and loving some of the links iv got from here for webbing! i am now moving on to the battledress uniform, now due to the fact i live in a (sometimes) hot country playing airsoft i was thinking about getting the denim battle dress uniform i know it may not be accurate for the british para kit im going for but itll do the job and will still look "legit" (hopfully)

do you chaps know of anywhere where i can get it for relativly cheap? iv looked on ebay and its going for $70for trousers and $60 for pants which...ii guess im willing to pay if i have too...just thought you guys might have better suggestions.......

What Price Glory's denims are a little cheaper than that, but not significantly cheaper I'm afraid.

I've been thinking of getting denims for a while, but tbh I'm broke right now :slap:

EDIT:
But uni finishes in a week & then I have return to that wonderful world of having a job. Then I'd probably be keen to get denims. Need to see what the next WW2 game's gonna be, I'm hoping the kit I've got will be adequate for it, I can do either glider or line infantry with what I have so far. Plus I've got KD gear so now that I think about it I'm probably set for Italy and North Africa too. Far too much kit given that we've only had one game so far :giggle:

We need to book that second WW2 game methinks...

TBH KD is far more appropriate than denims if you want to do Brit paras

The airborne wore a mix of KD and BD in North Africa while training for Husky and to my knowledge wore the same kit for the sicily ops.

I've seen denims worn by commandos on raids and by line inf in the summer of 44 when it was very hot but I've not seen any pics i can think of of airborne in denims other than doing work duties.

So while its fine for battling and airsoft it might actually be more practical , more light weight and be a bit more accurate just to use the KD you have?

Just a though, should look cool either way to be honest... especially if you went for the brown denims as from anything more than 20 ft away you'll look like you're wearing BD anyway.

Totally sympathise with the heat isssue.

Last summer I actually got heat stroke through wearing all the 'official' airborne kit in the hottest day in june, I had the undershirt, BD, denison, webbing and steel helmet on for a fair proportion of the day, got home and was very very sick, blurred vision and slurring speech and that was *before* i got to the bar.. i'm used to being like that on the way back from the pub!

I also got my denims from Sanjay (Replicaters.com) and was very happy with them, but if you want them in brown you'd need to ask him as the ones I have are very green.

Also be warned that you'll find a fair few dissatisfied customers on this forum so it's a bit of a lottery. If money is tight maybe it's not a lottery you want to play.

Yeah it's crazy out here in summer. At open days I took to wearing KD trousers and shirt plus denison, and even that was often too hot for all day skirmishing. Also played in BD trousers and KD shirt a few times in mid summer & I'm probably lucky not to have gotten heatstroke myself. Might just stick to KD for the summer this year.
