That's certainly fine, I still use either '49patt and/or post-war Greek BD. That level of uniform will be far better than the specified 'minimum' look-a-like, as specified in the "Reference" section in the menu bar above ^
On the front of Denison Para Smocks, if you've already got a Belgium one, or there's one being sold rather cheaply (under £30), then go for it. Otherwise most'll suggest saving up for a RangerCamp repro' one. It's spot-on and the price of them have come down to under £100. But only go for this option if you are sure you'll be doing re-enactment and/or WW2 airsoft more than a few times to make it worth the purchase!

you say ranger camp smock, i've not seen this. i have seen the replicaters website which sell smocks that seem quite good for about 60ish, do you have a link for the rangercamp smock? also the brit weapons are quite limited, i would use an mp40 most likely as the other options i have seen are S&S customs that are quite abit or making a custom one, which i dont have the skill to pull off.

or, apparently, Mk III (rather than MkII) universal pouches will fit 6 MP40 mags each, and are a fraction of the price!
After using a sten bandolier over the weekend, i'm still planning on getting one, but they're a bit on the steep side, so i'll get some MkIII pouches first, and pick up one as and when i can afford it.

I found a cheap one for £35... I've seen them a few times now, but only at the very BIG militaria fair and only in 1s and 2s... 
BTW, not all MKIII pouches are up to the job... some just aren't big enough. There's no way of telling either without trying them out!

In which case, i'll have to carry around an mp40 mag at the victory show if we can make it!

Really? I've loads and have seen loads for sale, it's the shorter MkII's that I've not seen many of (though I do have a set of MkII's in my current Brit loadout).

Now, MkII leather '39patt that haven't been converted into MkIII's, now they ARE hard to find!

MkIs are hard to find as well... I could do with 2 for a BEF impression.
What are the differences between the MkI's and MkII's? I've seen many pics of the BEF "on-the-out" and also of Dunkirk, and I can see short MkIII shaped pouches (which I thought were just the shorter MkII's. Are these actually MkI's?) or just with no webbing at all, just a bandoleer. Help Yith! Got any pics' of MkI's?

MkIII = MKII with about half an inch extra height.
MkI = MkII with belt attachments in a lower (or is it higher?) position... I forget which...

Mk1 pouches are rare as.
Pretty sure the fittings are only an inch different(not 100% higher or lower)so unless a stitch Nazi pretty sure MKII pouches would be ok.
Fine if you're on a really tight budget. At present you can still get wartime dated stuff pretty cheap from Sabre tho.
Aye, I think it's fair to say if you already have 58 pattern webbing then as a 'looks-like' it's fine but if you are buying from scratch it makes more sense to buy the proper 37 pattern as it is cheap enough and freely available.

MT pouches also fit 6x MP40/Sten mags in ............ I know as I happen to have a pair of said pouches for sale
