Which helmet do you want to paint and what period do you want it to be for.

Sorry, I should have specified. I want to use it for all periods (more or less) and my helmet is a mk2.

Why would you paint a British helmet with paint mixed to a German standard?
Thats pretty close to treasonable action... :whiplash:
The first colour is to BS but Service Brown is one option, used back then and still in the colour charts. Was used early war and later too so covers all bases. get a flat/matt version and a helmet net and you are well away.

Which ones German? I just went through and looked at the colours I thought matched original helmets id seen, I had a look at service brown but the colour looks odd, if anyone has a picture of a helmet painted in service brown I would really like to see it as it would help a whole me a lot.
Thanks.

RAL is the German colour standard. been in use since before WW2.
The dark yellow used post '43 on German tanks was RAL7028, the Red Brown was RAL 8017 and the green RAL6003.

Nothing wrong with your Bronze Green choice but many re-enactors prefer a brown helmet for BEF/early war impressions.
Its the same colour used for ammo boxes in WW2, even today they are Service Brown.

Oh ok, German kit isn't my strong point. I'm going to wait and see if someone can post a picture of a helmet painted in service brown as I want to see what it looks like.

Google ww2 tommy helmet colour and a few turn up. As I said your medium bronze green is fine as a choice.
