Dunno if this is entirely the right place to ask this, but...

...2 belts here, the bottom one is (as far as I know) a 44 pattern belt...

...but what is the top one (looks like a 37 pattern but green, and with the 44 pattern holes along the bottom edge)?

Views of the "inside" and "outside":

Any info' gratefully received, ta.

Bottom belt looks 44 pattern to me.

Top belt looks post war 37 pattern. The eyelets probably added after manufacture to make it compatible with 44 pattern stuff.
That assumes the green-ness is due to blanco... which does look to be the case from the photos.

Interesting ideas about the belt, and thanks for the confirmation about the 44 pat.

Cheers guys. :good:

Some additional details about the belt, it's definitely green through and through, not blanco'd (but can't rule out dyed)...

...and it doesn't look "modified", although, the fittings (including the gromits) are all all black (factory) lacquered brass, whereas the rear strap buckles are lacquered ally. There are mo makers marks, or any others for that matter, anywhere

Whats the pouch and holster??

The pouch is a repro, bought by me as such, from "axenige" on ebay, it's the 503 P.I.R. pouch, designed to carry 5 x M1A1 30 round mag's.

The holster came with the "unknown" belt, and is similarly "unknown", it's big, so probably a very pistol holster (has buckles for a shoulder strap, in addition to the belt fixings)...

...it takes a 1911 and 2 spare mag's (in the sub-pockets) easily.

Obviously, I'd like to confirm the origins of this in due course too.

Interesting looking holster-thats a new one on me :good:

I remember back in the day when i knew jack sh18 about militaria i bought a few of those belts believing the bull that they were Brit44 patt-think i still have one somewhere.

Yep,theyre made green-not blancoed and they arent converted/modified 37patt belts they are definately post war Nato made.

Last one i had came with a US PRC10 radio which was reissued to either the Dutch or Belgian army.

The belt and holster were advertised as "unknown origin", didn't cost much (£5 for both), so I grabbed 'em just out of interest...

...nice to know what the belt is, and good fun that the other is "strange"...

...looking forward to the solution.

The top belt is Dutch, with a Danish flare pistol holster for the M/61 signal pistol.
