That sounds like a good way to do it!
I'd love to compare the finish you've got to what I managed with the powdery KG3.
Some comparison of colours and finish would be good.
I have tried using this later type blanco in a similar way. The finish seems to be a darker green than the KG3 but checks with more examples may say that KG3 can be the same colour.

I just need to find some ruddy blanco!!!

What happened about AndyT's supplier of said green stuff?

This blancoing lark is what put me off doing a Brit impression ![]()
SOF have it on their site for a tenner, or $3 from the US http://www.whatpriceglory.com/ukweb.htm
I thought WPG only had white? Believe me, I have scoured the web!
SoF's is the waxy stuff, not the crumbly stuff.

If KG3 is the sage-green colour blanco(as seen on p15, p74-75 The World War II Tommy), what is the name of the emerald-green/spring-green blanco (as seen on p22-24, p43 The World War II Tommy)?

EDIT: Sorted it, a quick google search and I've answered my own question. **3 is the darker, and **97 is the lighter. Sorry, should have done it earlier before posting.

You may have to be the first of us to try the SOF repro stuff.
I've used the 'waxy' stuff Steiner and didn't find it a problem. I wouldn't have said it was waxy though but very solidly compressed and not at all crumbly. I used it like you would a block of poster paint - whirling water into the block to make a coloured liquid, then painted it on. Soaks in quick and no brushing off residue afterwards.
I have a tool carrier still to blanco so I'll try the 'rub block on webbing then wet in' technique. I think that will be the last of it so I'll have to move on to Warrens crumbly...
BTW, I got mine from thingy tank museum in Devon - they had a stack in the shop. Erm, Combatton? Damn, I've forgotten. Someone will know it!

Nice one Chommers.. £4 a block ![]()

Steady Jenny, chaps might start talking....

Crumbs... I've just come through a 4-hour initiation ceremony... blanco'd big pack, small pack, 2 ammo pouches, three cross straps, 2 L-straps, 2 other straps and water bottle holder.
Never again!!! ![]()

4 hours???? wtf?
It shouldn't take that long!
Well it did! I was trying not to make a mess.... not that I succeeded in that department!
Also, we're down one kitchen knife - my wife couldn't get the blanco out of the grooves....I'd used it to try and saw the block in half. ![]()
