How do you apply Blanco?

You can have more than one 'trademark' using the same name. Look how many 'marshalls' there are. Trademarks do not grant unique use of a name.

Also Simon, if you do have a 'tome' on Blanco recipes I suggest you dig it out of storage and share both it's title and contents with the world. There are hundreds of forum pages debating just these topics. It sounds like your tome could answer so many questions. Much of Pickerings archived paperwork was lost in the Sheffield floods, inc the original recipe. This 'tome' of yours may have valuable social, as well as historical, significance.
The basics of the mix we now know but details such as the pigments and mix % would be very interesting.
These 'facts' you mention on trials? Where did you find them? what are they based on? I dont doubt you but anecdote is not data, please support your claims so we can all use them with surety.

Of course, but I can't find any documentary evidence of Sarah Lee holding a trademark of Blanco - they have 'Bimbo' though :giggle:

Heh, it's been a while since I needed this thread. I went to Blanco my new anklets and my bayonet frog this morning. I'm sure somewhere I have a half a cake, but I'll be darned if I can find it. However, I did find this - Dutch Blanco?? Comes in powder form in the paper sachet. Did the job nicely.

Did the Chief Chinthe ever dig out the fabled tome of Blanco he claimed to have?
With C-W running the Blanco and Bull website such a document would be a great help.

Go easy with that Dutch stuff, it's quite hard to find on it's own.

Aww.... why has it done this on an unissued and previously unblanco'd item?

It doesn't show very clearly here, but there is a distinct regtangle of darker colour.

I've had this happen with original (post war) pouches and not come up with a solution. (luckily they only cost pennies)

I suggest scrubbing in detergent and trying again... Failing that contact SoF.... or perhaps even do that first!

I can't imagine SoF would be at all interested.

It's an SoF one, right?

If it can't be blancoed properly, then you should be able to return it as unsuitable. It's at least worth a try...

Yes Richard, it's from SoF. I think I'll try and clean it and give it another go. FYI, my size 3 ones you got me from Sabre have the odd dark patch, too. I think that's just life.
