They look pretty good to me.
They're the type as found on post war ('49patt) BD blouses.
'39 and '40 patt used pressed brass buttons for the main opening, cuffs and pockets, and green "rotating shank" buttons for the epualettes.
These stamped brass buttons were quite thin and so had sharp edges which would mean they would cut through their own cotten anchoring!
You can buy them here: http://www.panther-store.cz/en/catalog/ ... ass-button
Most changed the buttons over to all "rotating shank" buttons, like BD demins had.

its for an original unissued dutch BD set I picked up for £40 fits perfect and only needs the buttons changed
what about private purchase? would they use the same buttons ?
cheers

I'm fairly sure '40 pattern used the plastic buttons like those. Only 37 pattern used the brass. Certainly EVERY repro 40 pattern blouse I've known (and for that matter the original I remember from stoneleigh) had plastic buttons.
Of course that assumes by 40 pattern you mean "austerity".

Yes
this is the jacket
and trousers
not as green as in the pictures, colour due to lighting in the kitchen
Yeah, the trousers have the 4 hole buttons you found on ebay. The same sort of buttons go on the blouse.
Though of course you won't be 100% correct even then. Your blouse pockets have pleats and a scalloped flap, which the P40 austerity tunics didn't have.
This is what you're trying to acheive:

yeah, thats like the one Ive received from stof with a set of trousers which im going to use
was maybe thinking on using the dutch set for private purchase/officer?
Officer might tend to have an open collar, but otherwise the same pattern as an OR... even if private purchase, so that doesn't really work.
To be honest if you have a sof repro... use that and sell the belgian one as it is now.
sent from Stof on the forum here, not sof
cheers for the advice, will put back in the cupboard
I'm fairly sure '40 pattern used the plastic buttons
I concur. No brass on the economy conscious '40 pattern. Better to use it for bullets.
