The marks on the trousers are slightly reminiscent of the aftermath of a bout of severe explosive diarrhea...

helga you were an inspiration!

I must say i REALLY enjoyed myself it was gruelling in the wet and at times it the wet got a bit much, but i learned a bit about myself this weekend, and that made it rewarding and lets face it now that i am home eaten and showered the warm glow of fond memory takes effect, and to me it was a weekend to remember, shame on all those who left early! It made it more difficult for those allies left behind - lets have more games like this please.! Thanks to the CIA boys who organised it and to Gadge who wasnt there to see how splendidly his fire dried out all the German clothing!

i think i agree with helga about the heat thing..... cool and overcast would have been ideal...
loved the V! explosion.

Isn't just. I am bathed, fed and warm now - HBT's, zelt, smocks, sleeping bags, rucks all tumble dried. Footwear racked and drying out. All civvie clothes and under garments washed and dried. Wool tunic will take a couple of days to dry out...
The discomfort of being a drowned rat for 24hrs is now but a faded memory. I didn't like it much at the time but it's done and dusted and I'm still alive!

What an amazing w/e! Utterly soaked during the day on Saturday, slept in a leaking tent, dried my clothes by the heat of Gadge's fire - you rock mate! - and out patrolling again Sunday AM.

Special thanks to Guy - fantastic scenario, vehicle shoot ups, hijacks, etc, V1, 88mm gun, and being a great organiser, to the guy with the Landy 101 who spent

500 mile round trip for me, 10 hours each way on the train for Morgs - don't moan anyone else - well worth it!

I'll take your 500 and raise you to 650 :P

Well worth the journey though, every second of it.

Sounds like you guys had an enjoyable weekend. reminds me of my early days in airsoft back in Retie(Belgium), drying socks by the fire, laughing as someone's caught fire.

So how was that explosion of the V1 taken care of? Did you need to get permission from anyone to blow it up?
I can assure you I've never seen anything that big blown up in a Airsoft game ever! Looks darn cool though

Hopefully none of you ended up with trenchfoot or pheumonia (like one re-enactor I know)

And guys, next time dig a small trench around your tent to help the water to flow around it ;)

Looking forward to seeing more photos!

Rick

My Brother and I had a fantastic weekend of it, the morale in the Axis camp never dipped and we bonded really well as a team in the face of some of the worst rain I have ever seen in Wales (and I've been out on the Brecon Beacons more times than I care to remember!).

The way our team shared cooking facilities, fire building, kit, and even damp cigarettes and lighters made it a privelige to serve with you all. The patrols were spot on and our attack on the allied base was executed with speed and aggression despite everyone being absolutely soaked to the skin.

I felt a pang of sympathy for the allies, having lost so many to the weather and I know I took the piss quite mercilessly but it was all taken well and we had a good fraternise with the enemy before squelching back to our camp. I'm not so sure we needed the vehicles, a U Boat would have probably been more useful!

Thanks to the organisers for putting in so much effort with the scenario, props, vehicles and pyro's. Even the music and sound effects were taken care of, all combining to the atmosphere and making this one of the best events I have ever attended.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

well, a quick report from me on my first ever Airsoft event. Sadly myself, cliftonmatt and Gadge had to leave on the sat. night for a couple of reasons, (only partially due to the indoor pool in our bivi!) but up to that point i have to say it was a fantastic event.

The game itself was well planned, well organised and great fun, so a huge thanks to all the organisers (site and game) for putting on such a great event, and for putting so much time and effort into it. I myself got shot far too many times, including a great couple in the face during the ambush on the 101, leaving me with realistic battle scars!

The Axis camp was a delight to be in, all of the kameraden were friendly, and the weather never made more than a slight dent in the collective morale. Everyone pulled together and helped each other out, with the huge fire we set up on the saturday being a prime example.

In short, as an intro to ww2 airsoft, in possibly the worst weather i've been out in as long as i can remember, I have to say i had a great time!

I'm hooked, and will be back at the first opportunity!

They were hanging up drying.

I am a bit suspicious about whether it might have been lower ranks up to high jinks - not the sort of prank you would have ever pulled on an officer eh Anthony?

Had a brilliant day saturday. my highlites are being ambushed in the 101 (even though it drew blood!), that was well done by the allies. Also the last attack of the day to get the morter was a good one. On the whole a great day. Am a bit ashamed that me and steve bugged out and drove back to York on the night  ! If only i'd brought a tent!! sorry to the axis for letting the side down :(
anyway, bloody great, cant wait for the next one.

An excellent weekend... Loved it.... Would I want to do it again? Not sure... you can only get so wet! lol... If there was nicer weather and I'd do it next weekend... lol... ok maybe the weekend after!

I was lucky that I'd managed to keep enough kit dry to have a very nice sleep on the Saturday night. All stuff for the night was wrapped securely in bin bags. Got 5 good hours kip and that allowed me to get up and be relatively fresh in the morning ready for what I think was a mile or probably more sneaky beaky around the site.

Highlights for me? Well apart from setting off the pyro Major gave me, which was ace (I used it all) it has to be seeing Headshot sneak into the German camp on Sunday morning with just a knife and then sneak back to us with a German helmet for Morg's disguise. Superb stuff!

Big thanks to Guy! This was your baby and the rest of CiA didn't really do anywhere near as much to organise this one as you did. You did a fantastic job and deserve a very long rest indeed!
