Just brainstorming a list of stuff that might be useful in the future, either as set dressing or functional props. Add whatever you can think of!

Czech hedgehog roadblocks (SBG have some superb ones made from ply that can be broken down for storage and transport)
Brit 2" mortar
Yank 60mm mortar
German 50mm mortar
Yank radio
Brit radio
Functional backpack radios (PMR inside)
Sandbags
Camo netting
Wriggly tin/PVC sheet (painted!)
Reusable signage - Field telephone, First aid points, etc etc (painted, on thin wood planking)
Heavy-duty reusable prop mines (drum brakes are wicked for this!) - would work well with David's mine detector.

Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Barbed wire to go with hedgehogs (great for general dressing round HQs and mg's too. Made from fencing wire with pva glued string barbs?
Simple one: pvc plastic corrugated roof sheeting (£6 each) painted silver/rusty for chaps to build positions, obs points along with sang bags.

All of the above would be great for Ariel along with 2" mortar.

Generic backpack radios like Josh's would be very useful esp for the Jedburgh game (for both sides)

Some period camo net - no idea where to get that from, plain fishing net with scrim skeins tied on?

Regarding period camo netting, had a bit of an idea about that. The modern Brit camo net has a grid of about the right size, but the camo itself is plastic. However, it can be easily removed, and replaced with strips of hessian tied onto it. I've got a 20ft by 20ft brit net here, might have a go at it later this month (looks like i've just given myself something to do over the late May bank holiday weekend)

As to fake barbed wire, if you know where to look, its cheap enough to pick up 10M (ISTR some 30M stuff as well) lengths of fake wire. Got some here as a matter of fact!

Sandbags? I'll leave that to you. God only knows how many of those bastards I filled up at Firefight Reading over the course of a few years. Got to be well over a thousand of the sods. Never doing another one

I'm not filling sandbags either - that's for the punters to do!

I can't find any fake barbed wire here in the UK but there is a German supplier. Is the stuff you have stiff wire so it an be coiled or is it err limp so it can only be used with pigtails or posts?

I'd like to suggest 4-5 BFGs for doing trip wire stuff with . as we wouldn't be throwing them they'd not get lost, they are small and more reliable than most of the other trip mines?

A waste of money IMHO - they cost over £70 each now! I have one of their proper trip mines too and they are rather pricey too. The gamekeepers spring kit that Jay pointed too are good enough for the job.

I've used the blank spring fired mines for a while , they were so crap I threw them away in the end . Misfires galore, failure to go off and awkward to use . Thought the BFGs might be more reliable .

The BFGs are a bastard to set up as trips - the pin is tight and you would have to find some way of strapping the grenade to a tree (or whatever). The Dynatec trip mine is better (it's a tube with ring on one end and the pin at the other and the pin slides out in line) but doesn't seen to be available any more - and its only 9mm not 12g.
Anyhoo, I have two BFGs and the trip mine - so available if we need them!
