Heh, Keith went round to see Dave on Monday and Dave showed him a pile of documents - "evidence" from the police. He has been under surveillance for some time with photos of him going about his daily business as well as pics of us all at War & Peace and the Victory Show 
Dave B has booked in for Jedburgh (could you put him on the list please Stephen?) and John, Gaz & Ian should be booking in soon.

Yes, chuck Dave on the list - no one else knows what's been going on beyond us and the 16thSS. I think everyone (who noticed an absence) just think he has been away on business or busy with the new-born. So, business as usual now...
Dave B won't be able to get his kit back until after the aquittal hearing (I dare say they will be a delay anyway) so he has bought new uniform for Jedburgh. He has just had another wedge of 'evidence' passed to him full of crazy shit - claims that each tyre for the 222 costs £800 a piece and the VW he bought cost £46,000 
(heh, he bought it from a copper so you would think they would have asked the vendor first before making accusations). They even picked up on the wine he supplied for the xmas social saying is was some Euro money laundering scheme. If it hadn't affected someone's personal life so much I'd be roaring with laughter - the whole thing seems like a bad joke
The whole thing stinks of an ill-conceived vendetta...

So I think the only thing they were after was an IP address and possibly a time stamp of a post. Perhaps just to double check that someone posting with the name 'dave barrett' along with a avatar self-portrait was the same Dave Barrett they were after and not an imposter! 
Well, to re-open and old thread:
Dave B was today convicted by jury of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs. He denied it throughout the two week trial and it is hard to tell whether he was being stiched up or not as there has been so must weirdness going on.
Anyway, he has been convicted and possibly looking at a double figure sentance, so unless there is an appeal (and even if there is it could be a long way off) he is off the scene, possibly the others will lose interest too.
Scuppered all our plans for a nice event in a couple of weeks time! No vehicles for Schaulen either apart from Keith's (if he is still going).
Oh f**k! He is screwed now then.

When it comes to Crown Court, where both sides are represented by Barristers/QC's, it's less about the evidence than it is about character assasination of the witnesses and oscar winning acting performances from the advocates a lot of the time. It's one of the downsides of the British courts system, where we use the adversarial system and most of Europe uses the inquisitorial system.

Well, we are in discussions now, rather urgent as we have a show booked in a couple of weeks time!
John is saving hard to move house at the moment. Gaz wants to continue with the 16th, as do I, Del, Keith. Ian might as he is mates with Gaz. This is on the reenacting front. Andy and Martin are both still interested too.
As for airsoft - well Gaz is into 'nam events as well but wants to continue with WW2 if not too expensive. Del will depend on his work commitments and pending move to Scotland. Keith isn't as mobile (he gave up on Horn and sat much of it out) but he does have the Kubel he would like to use. John hung around with Dave B mostly, so his commitment might go. Andy is still keen, Martin less so.
Summary - none as dedicated, physically able, wealthy and time-rich as they were - so I'd summarise as "perhaps will turn up if they are able to but won't bust a gut to attend come hell or high water".

All the vehicles (in the care of her maj.) are Dave's of course. He had a shedload of boxes, jerry cans, beds, tents and associated show kit. No idea how (or even if) we can lay our hands on it - now isn't the time to bother Crissie. Gaz has the desert zelt tents, Keith has PPsh/MG42, Del has funk kit, I've got the commander set up. So, we can do a small display but we won't be able to fill 30x30m any more!
Heh, the irony is stepping down from CiA would give me more time to to shows - plans dashed! Ah well, I suppose it won't harm to spent more time with the family
