7 and 5 years, both under 8 ....does that qualify for the automatic 1/3 remission ?

The way the system works at the moment, he'll do half of the actual sentence. He can, of course, get time knocked off for doing some of the bollocks courses that HMP run as well.

Update.

Crissie wants shot of the kit as Mr B won't want it when he gets out - we are trying to work out what to do. No point her trying to sell it - the question is whether there is sufficient interest in keeping the 16th going and us using it or just sell on her behalf and have done with it.

John Outram is definitely out as a player/reenacting, Ian ain't fussed either. Gaz still wants to do a bit. Del is OK, as is Keith. Not much of a 'group' left really!

Well, I don't want to come across as a vulture but, I'd be interested in reacquiring my old Tanaka K98 that I sold to Dave.

Also, as my jail is going private, if you're short handed, I might be able to help out Dave?

Oh, there's a thought! :good:

I'm not sure of what gear is where at the moment and what got taken and not returned before. All the uniforms & vehicles went in the 'raid' but not the tents or the radios for some reason. All the toy figures, airfix models, medals and other memorabilia went too. Dave was using an MP40 which he bought after his remand spell, he sold the MG42. I'll see what happened to the K98.

If things go according to plan we are going over to Dave's place on Monday to catalogue the kit to sell it on his behalf, collect stuff that belongs to others and buy or borrow stuff for shows.

Make sure that nothing is going through under POCA, or selling kit off could be a little messy, legally.

Good point - the POC hearing was adjourned pending further investigation.

Blimey, it all seems a bit, well, circumstantial doesn't it?

He's been convicted on the basis of phone calls and meetings, not actual direct crime...unless there's something that's not allowed to be reported on.

Yes, very circumstantial - no direct evidence as far as I know. I've no way of knowing if there is any truth in the matter overall but it is a bit frightening how flimsy this thing seems to be. And with the previous money laundering thing - I had several conversations with Dave B and he was genuinely frustrated and astonished at the allegations made and that the case was dropped through lack of evidence speaks volumes.

It could be that Dave B was a 'Mr Big' and had frustrated police attempts to nail him for big stuff in the past. But he isn't a 'clever' person and I'm dam sure he hasn't the wherewithal to outwit the brainpower and resources of the Nottinghamshire Constabulary. And the fact that he had is most worrying indeed!

I haven't seen any reports of his previous trial re money laundering but it must be related to the current case and this would explain why is was put in big boy's prison for remand. It's always difficult to form an opinion when you only know or are told half of the story. I take people as I find them - Dave B was clearly a 'wheeler -dealer' (his latest venture was a couple of lay-by cafes) but he was personable, enthusiastic and generous and I can't fault him for that.

Any ideas what might happen to Dave's Schaulen booking? Should I refund or will someone else take it on?

NB: Del's just paid, so perhaps something there could be 'sorted out'.

Dave and Keith's places were free - there was no payment made.

I've taken all Dave B's tentage, boxes and stuff we need for next week's show so that is sorted. (That K98 went in the first raid Pete!)

Dave B rang Christy while we were there so Keith had a word with him - he wants all of his kit sold. She seems OK given the circumstances.
