Hi all
I was showing the photos of Wotan to my Kerstin, my new gal, and she absolutely ripped apart the German translation on the emergency exit signs! "It makes no sense", she said in her no-nonsense Teutonic way!
The upshot of this is that she's happy to translate any German (within reason) for signage we might need, just supply the English!

Yup, to a German, it would read as complete crap - most likely due to it being a combination of German language from my memory (and i haven't had to use any of that since my Grandmother died 14 years ago) and the rest of it came via Babelfish 
Still, could she translate the following?:
"yes, it was Davids idea to get butt naked"
"Sod off Richard, before I have to kill you"
"Never trust an Austrian with one bollock"
