Well, he has started the ball rolling already. Time for us to agree where we (CiA) stand in relation to it. Given that Josh, as far as I am aware, hasn't asked for us to be directly involved this time, how far to we go - if at all?
a) Allow a thread as F&O and let him get on with it - exposure for free for the good of fostering WW2 games/players
b) Co-promote - pushing the game as hard as one of ours
c) Commit to attending and promote as last time, close to co-production.

I'm happy to help promote it - for the good of WW2 Airsoft in the UK as a whole, but i sure as fuck don't think that we should be operating as his PR department for free (not when he's making as much out of it as he is - ISTR that Guy said his cost-per-player for the Candleston site was in the region of £5 a head, so no matter what he said (even allowing for the 1K on the guns - which will be treated as a CAPEX by his accountant and worked back against tax on the depreciation value) - anyway you put it, he still made a nice profit at D-Day, even once you knock off his other costs (staffing, logistics costs, pyro etc etc)
Close co-operation. Well, how much did he take on board with the D-Day game?
What I *really* dont want to happen is that the fucker is seen as the originator of decent WW2 games in the UK.

Tend to agree - option a)!
In fairness, on the day and in-game the whole thing was our rules - everything else had been deleted, forgotten or ignored. Not forgetting Guy's efforts following his site visit to make him see the error of his ways (split game)!
And you are right, don't want him to push us out - luckily with our dedicated following we have the upper hand. In any case it's easier for us as we need to cover costs, he needs to make cash.

Un- related but just had a shock when I saw in the PBI bit a thread that said Varsity Moonies......damn are they copying us??? ![]()
Reread the title and realised how wrong I was ![]()
Hehe.
I altered a single letter on one of Yith's posts, but no one seems to have noticed: ![]()
11. I really am a "D-Day Dogger"... the Sinusitis would have put paid to it even if I could have turned up! Glad you all had fun!

I wonder if Gadge told him what he missed?
Before I let Josh see it I thought I ought to run it past you first....

Looks good to me. Would suggest changing the phraseing used under the "organiser" section to "Gunman Airsoft, who are experienced large scale Airsoft event organisers" - makes it sound less of a one-man-show then!
Still think he's having a laugh if he thinks it'll kick off again at 06:00 on the Sunday morning....

Correction made, thanks. The Sunday start should be 10am so I have altered that too! (He is running 10 - 2pm on Sunday rather than 8 - 12pm as last time)

Where are the "vast Hinterlands" ? That's France surely ?
"hinterlands" perhaps but not Hinterlands, and probably not vast .
Also " give the WWII Scene a go" ? I'm sure there's better wording than that .
I assume Hinterlands (rather than hinterlands) is used because that's the game name.
I ain't going to question Josh about his phrasiology 'cos I don't care but I'm pretty sure the Germans wouldn't have called Normany the back lands, more like the front lines!
'give the WWII scene a go' - suggest an alternative, I've spent four hours on the damn ad and not wasting any more!

do not possess suitable period kit
