Heh, a knackering event that went down very well with the punters.
Using more vehicles meant a good deal more of the site was in use although play still gravitated to the bridge valley.
Commanders on all three sides were up to the job - just as well as they ran the game in effect. The game was simple enough so there was no thinking on the fly and no need to unblock or kick-start play.
Still unsure of the battle value of the Dutch on buggies - but the crowd were certainly a hoot. Nice people as well.

Well done Guy - lots of smiling faces which is what matters at the end of the day.

I enjoyed myself, it was good just sitting round with the fellas than having to lead from the front. Also good to have a "big budget" and not having to worry about spending .
We got to blow lots of stuff up , but it was a lot more "serious" than our camping with beer and guns weekenders
Happy punters, will put on another if I can get a site quickly . .

Likewise. i've never attended or heard of a large event that's ran by some real decent guys who are full of enthusiasm and actually act like part of the team. Really encouraging to see and a good example to those less customer-considerate, money-hungry organisers.
We couldn't have made it more fun without the commanders and their novel ideas, thanks chaps
Top show

Ouch !

LOL - I saw that and imediately thought it was aimed at Josh! (But I assume he meant TA/Stirling/GZ events).

On the subject of money hungry ;), were you able to make a decent bit of cash off it or did you plough it all into the game?

er ..funny you should mention that . I was tallying up today , I did ok , but probably spent too much back into the game

*wow I've got a huge budget compared to CiA lets push the boat out*

That said I don't begrudge it , it was well worth the time and effort .

I did however do a comparison with Town Assualt 3, and reckon Ian came away with about twice the profit ....mind you ...it was a bit crap

Now that I'm working again , and did well out of the redundancy, overall I am happy with the game and financial result .

PS spoke to IED today , everythings still cool and they are keen for us to check out their Hay on Wye site for a WWII game next Summer- they reckon it's very bocage. So result all round .

Fucking cracking weekend. The night ambushes on the convoys were seriously intense - in fact, "brutal" is probably a better word for them. The Dutch guys were a hoot (somehow, i stopped myself from doing a Mike Myers "Goldmember" to them - "bong and a pancake?)

People were absofuckinglutely chinstrapped by the end of the weekend. Some serious mileage was covered on foot by the lads.

Oh, and we looked very Pro doing the pyro at the end....

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
