It's late, i've had a bit of a drink, and i've started thinking (which is generally a bad combination)
Now, we like mortars, right? And im going to be building several more (5cm Gr36 and 60mm M2, might even find time for a Brit 2" as well). However, this leads to a problem - cost of pyro.
A suggestion - dumb, but here goes. Before an event, we ask for dedicated mortar crews - and thats their primary role for that specific event. We give them an allocation of rounds for the gig, but if they want more they can buy them through us (just add it to the cost of their booking fee)
Probably a stupid suggestion, but thought i'd put it up for debate. Your thoughts, gentlemen?

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
I would say if mortars are to have any use in an event then the cost should be shared - its as much fun being mortared as mortaring. If the cost is a problem then restricted supplies is the way forward and resupply part of the scenario.
BTW, Josh mentioned that he was using something different at Caen (not the custom made TLSFX things we have been using). Could you check it out when you go Pete? (If you go, lord knows why you would!
)

I've had a rare attack of common sense and won't be handing Josh any of my money!
