Is it worth bidding for this? Even at £75 it would be cheaper than a decent amateur one but is built like a tank!
Plenty of potential for keeping Germans occupied at Jed (or indeed for Allies at Oil Drum)

Yes, we could certainly work it into most events, especially if we want to hold people up a bit. :good:

I chucked up a £70 upper limit a few minutes before the end (someone had already put in a bid at £9.99 12 hours earlier) and I had the price at £10.50.
Someone was sitting on it and sniped with 5 seconds to go but put a max price of £46 and he didn't have time to up the offer price.
So there we are, I've bought it for £46.

Now, its in Hackney. It can be collected from there, or they will hand over somewhere on the M4 corridor between London and Bristol at cost or they can despatch by Parcel Force/Carrier.

Thoughts?

That's me out of collecting it then.

I could post up asking if a London forum user could do me a favour? Martin maybe? (And bring it to the training day)

Good idea.

Talking of props, I was going to pop to B&Q to get some plywood for hedgehogs this week. I've got no projects at the moment!

Guy might be able to sort - I'll have a word when he surfaces.

Yup, that I do. Might be able to meet the guy to pick the kit up from him, but this week is pretty messy on the diary front till Friday.

Mine detector turned up today. Nice bit of kit, all bits present - I've even added a printed manual to the outfit. I'll see if I can get it working tonight, needs a 9v source so that is easy - probably a 8.4v mini is best bet as there will be plenty around if it expires in-game. Lowest operating voltage is 7v. Destructions say the original 9v zinc battery should last 300hrs when used intermittently so I can't see mini's expiring.
The WW2 version of this used valves and needed 60v so I think farbynes can be sacrificed for practicality!

Nice one David. Should prove to be a useful bit of kit!

Yay, the thing works (once I'd worked out how to trim it and got over confusing continuous tone from concrete floor - forgot it was full of rebar. :slap: )

I'll check out the garden for a Roman hoard tomorrow. :giggle:

Good to hear that it works :)

I do like paranoia inducing props like mine detectors. Now to build some mines that most definitely go BANG
