Hmm, I'm not playing this game. ASCUK revisited. We don't ban people, this is a community forum, it is the antithesis of ASCUK.

How people interface with others is up to them. Shit that went out years ago so be left to the past - I'm amazed how people let the past eat into them and carry baggage round with them for ever and a day. Meh, it takes all sorts.

However, I have taken another approach and taken the opportunity to converse with Jon in a frank and mature way to resolve the 'problem'. And resolved it is. Without ghey ban buttons and apoplectic hissy fits.

It's got nothing to do with ASCUK and more to do with life. Some of us feel principled about things and retain feelings for a reason. We can't all be impassionate robots.

I'll also add that this DIPLOMATIC group of organisers has decided that we don't want him on the forum. You might hold the keys to the admin, but you don't have the unassailable right to unilaterally control the forum.

Your girlfriend left you six or seven years ago - that has nothing to do with 800 other people on this forum. Banning is wholly inappropriate and IS an ASCUK toy - banning due to personal dislikes. It doesn't help the community one bit.

The point here Dave is that four of the five organisers were in agreement about what to do based on an agreement we came to years ago about a group of people.

You've ignored those wishes and acted unilaterally.

The forum isn't about US now, we are but a small part facilitating WW2 airsoft. You consider me an utter cunt - this isn't news! But I do know abusive outbursts on the forum have a hugely negative effect on CiA - fellow moderators are taken aback. This could have been sorted between the two of you out of public gaze.

For sure, I wouldn't entertain ex Dog Co people coming to our games - that's a given, the same goes for anyone we don't like.

Stomping about wanting to ban people right, left and centre won't help our image and has the potential to destroy everything we have built up. There are better ways to handle situations. I most certainly haven't ignored your wishes. Your wishes have been complied with, demoncase won't be coming back to the forum. Without reaching for the ban button. Most people on this and other forums are knobs. It's the nature of the beast, that's why many don't bother with forums, not unreasonably.

I've deleted the original " Hi post" from DC as it served no purpose continuing . I've also moved the one in the moderators section to ours, it's there but now only visible to us .

It surprised me how the blast from the past brought back such strong emotions . Fluffy, Beaker , Aitch , Demoncase .......complete nobs that made trying to organise anything a real difficulty, running ASSCOCK like a personal fiefdom.

David's point about people not knowing the history is true, and a lot of moderators on here won't , will never know it , don't need to know, it was a time and place that exists no longer, although old scores are hard to forget , less so to forgive.

I'm glad that by whatever means DC knows he's not welcome here, and won't be coming back . Pressing the ban button would have been sweet revenge however the fact he knows his previous actions are still remembered is a more subtle way of settling old scores.

There is however a wider issue between us , and that is one of loyalty . We are a small band , and my comarades fights are also mine . I have disagreed with all of you in the past on a wide variety of different things and at different times , however my default position is to support you four right or wrong . I might spend a lot of time trying to convince you , that you are wrong , but if the decision is made then you will have my support unequivocally , without bitching , or without discussing it with others outside of us .

I wasn't speaking on your behalf and wouldn't to presume to do so - you did that yourself.

I first established that he knew who you were (this didn't seem clear form his posting - he has had brain surgery so anything might have happened). He didn't volunteer detail of past goings on other than that you were friends and team members (but I said that I had been told the story) but hadn't spoken to you for 5 years or more since you left the team. And that as part of the moderating team he never had account removal rights.

I explained that I was under pressure to ban him because of personal issues from members of the CIA team but was trying to resist as I thought personal issues should be separate from community forum activities and that ban tools were to protect the forum not appease personal vendettas. I asked him to help me through this since it was clear this was unresolvable and asked him not to log on again.

He said life was too short for grudges and didn't want to tread on any one's toes - and he agreed to my request.

I've never met the bloke I don't think, I probably didn't take any great notice of his activities on ASCUK. He may well be a prize knob, many people on this forum and other forums are, so that is not unexpected. He isn't, as far as I can tell a trouble maker, I haven't seen any twatishness from him on the AKAZ moderators section. But it was clearly causing problems with a member or two of the CiA team so it had to be sorted. Politely, with clarity and hopefully in a way that didn't bring any more grief to bear on CiA.
