No, you're right. It is in Paypal, but Paypal won't allow me to send it to anyone until I have associated a bank account to the paypal account then I'm back to square one above. It's all anti-laundering legislation and a total pain in the ass.

From an AFRA PoV I just need to find out what we now need to do with the money.
As I understand it I'll pay in the cheque then raise a £15 cheque to AFRA to go with the application form....right?
So I need to send this to Guy in that case? If so, Guy, what's the paper trail that you have for my financial records? Do AFRA issue a receipt?

The AFRA AGM is set for 1st Feb at Kenilworth which I shall attend on behalf of CiA.
On a separate note, I am going to post a reminder to CiA members to renew their membership. I can't see any reason why they can't do it direct with AFRA since there is an online mechanism for doing that. There is no point forcing members to pay us another fiver and have to do the paperwork ourselves and keep tabs on whose subscriptions are up to date. Five quid for initial set up is justifiable but no need otherwise.

They print off and fill in the form and send it to you with a cheque for £20 made out to 'Comrades in Arms' along with a h&s photo.
You sent the form, photo and cheque for £15 to the address I gave you, they get sent the card direct.
That's fine, I just wondered why they were required to PM first. A little vetting perhaps?
Also, where do they get the form from? The AFRA website has an online form, but I can't see a printed one.
Yes, vetting is the plan. If only to make sure someone didn't play a CiA game with the intent to get AFRA as a means to buy RIFs and no intention to play again (collectors have been stuffed by the VCRA as they don't have a defence at all). Also AFRA's rules are clear about the reenacting/living history bit and to qualify I would have thought that some attempt at correct kit is a requirement - it will certainly cover us if we put someone forward under our recommendation. Applying to us by PM saves potential unpleasantness on an open forum and anyway, they or us may not want it to be public knowledge!

Guy, did you receive my voicemail message at all?
I really need to get all the AFRA stuff sent to me as I've now got two applications for membership to process. I'm out most evenings this week so a phone conversation is difficult.
Any chance you could post it and ping me an email with what I need to do at the AFRA end to process them? Or, just leave me a voicemail if you prefer.

Comrades in Arms can't provide a legal confirmation of entitlement to
purchase RIFs. You must be a member of either an Airsoft Club that carries
it's own PL Insurance or a registered member of a reenactment association.
CiA have set up such a pathway in the latter case with our affiliation with
AFRA and you can apply for this if you wish - all the information is in the
CIA section of the forum.
