Only discrepancy - but you may want it that way for RIFS is that 16 year olds can join - so they must be over 15...... we are happy if you leave it as is - but it then leaves you some "discrection" should a 16 year old of sufficient maturity want to join.....
As an aside - I'd be quite happy to have some sort of tie in at some events where the airsoft guys could come and actually display with their kit and weapons and maybe advertise the crossover........ would be good to have "CiA Beltring" for instance. Don't advertise your presence - work on a display theme and let us fix you an area..... You come along and do a "old school" display, maybe in a trench or whatever, using aeg's as your main arms and see what people make of the "new group"........... That would shut the detractors up wouldn't it?
I'm all for challenging people's perceptions - No - it's not airsoft but it shows airsofters are capable of playing the "established re-enactors" at their own game....... and then you still get to go and play a damned good game besides..... after all, what's burning blank if it isn't a game? I've done it for enough years to know the hypocrisy of their statements.....
So yeah! Go for it. AFRA stands ready to recieve CiA as an affiliate group and the members of CiAS as full AFRA members.

Anyone know what Helga's specific beef about the AFRA announcement is?

If it's just that she's already a member and she's worried about not being included in our benefits package I'm sure we can have a quick chat with PD and arrange joint affiliation with us and whatever group she is also a member of, no?

I've been having convos all day with her (I deleted a lot form the forum thread).

It is largely concerned with females not being allowed to play in male roles in reenacting and thought we would apply the same. I have been unequivocal that will not ever be the case - we joined AFRA on our terms, no one else's.

OK then, this is what I'm going to attach to the account application along with the 'business plan' that I've written in the bank account thread. I've made some grammar changes. Any objection let me know by today:

Constitution for Comrades in Arms WWII Re-enactment Group

Purpose
Comrades in Arms World War II Re-enactment Group (CiA) exists as a non profit making group to organise high quality World War II (WWII) re-enactment events and to provide a hub for WWII enthusiasts. CiA looks to encourage and promote other groups and playing sites to organise similar WWII events, and to forge links between suppliers, sites, and re-enactors.

Organisation
There are two levels of status within CiA: Executive Officers and Ordinary Members

Executive
The Executive consists of Executive Officers (EOs) are defined as responsible for the running the group activities, website and forum. Among their specific roles are:

Chair
Secretary
Treasurer
Membership
Safety Officer
Events Coordinator

EOs may have multiple roles and/or roles other than the above list as agreed amongst themselves. EOs are invited to the post by mutual agreement amongst the existing EOs.
EOs are only allowed to be reimbursed for CiA related expenditure and may not receive remuneration for their time or other loss of earnings.

Members
Ordinary Members (OMs) are defined as people who share the aims and objectives of CiA, but have no direct responsibilities in the running of the group, no voting rights and no part in any decision making processes. OMs can apply for membership through the Membership Officer, who will be responsible for keeping an up to date list of members details. OMs join on a lifetime basis, and it is not mandatory to be a member to play at a CiA event but only players at CiA events may become OMs. CiA may take a part in organising or sponsoring other organisation’s events in which case the EOs may decide it has the status of a CiA event and so enable CiA Ordinary Membership to be considered.

OMs will be required to abide by rules laid down by the EOs; membership can be removed at any time by the EOs

General Meetings
The Annual General Meeting ( AGM) shall take place during 1st month of each year.
The agenda of the AGM shall include, but not be limited to, Treasurer, Membership & Safety Officer, and Events Coordinator report.
The roles taken by the EOs will be agreed on at most an annual basis by consent at the AGM or intermediate period.

Assets
A list of assets owned by the group will be maintained by the EOs. Examples of assets are:-
The CiA brand name and logo
The website and forum
Props constructed or purchased by CiA funds
Pyrotechnics, uniforms or other game relates items

The Ownership of these assets is by CiA, EOs retiring form CiA have no direct claim to them except by mutual agreement. In the event of CiA deciding to disband, the distribution of assets will be between the EOs by mutual agreement.

General Rules of Conduct for the Playing of Games

CiA events will abide by the rules of the site hosting the event. In the event of conflict, the host site’s rules will take precedent over CiA's own rules.
Uniform, weapons and other equipment shall be appropriate to the WWII period, either original, reproduction, or 'look alike'.[/list:u:3gx2mbb8]

General philosophy of Comrades in Arms

Non-profit making and site independent.
Organise WW2 events that follow a 'film-sim' principle (restricted ammo, authentic uniforms and weapons, period props) giving a high degree of suspension of disbelief.
Clear and consistent rules for CiA and CiA supported games.
Encourage site owners to run like-minded WW2 games.
Create a hub for WW2 enthusiasts.
Forge links between suppliers, sites and players.
Keep an 'friendly and inclusive' approach rather than 'elitist and stitch-counting'.[/list:u:3gx2mbb8]

It also asks that we supply a copy of AFRA's rules if we abide by them, which we don't, so I'm going to say that we have our own rules but that we administer membership to AFRA for our members who are then AFRA affiliated.
