I have to read a lot more but i'm incredibly suspicious, I'm also really wary that the players are picking up on the things we didn't like.

Christ just read the first three pages of that forum
personally i strongly feel we should have *nothing* to do with this game.

I'm sure it does but:

Aitch is being polite he clearly knows far more about the third reich and the waffen ss than the organisers and is politley asking them why hey have to roleplay a waffen ss unit in 'high political' setting. Stating that surely a mixed kampfgruppe or a heer unit would be more palatable.

The organiser it seems wants to live out his aryan 'they were good blokes doing their job under evil officers' fantasy.

I just think for the posts so far it has *highly* suspect motives and i cant see where ww2 airsoft will benefit from a larp distorting reality by poorly researched organiser (he thinks the SS were formed in 41 for example)

"The reason we want to use the Waffen as the emphasis for the game is for the roleplay. As you are aware they were formed in 1941 from many of the more elite Heer units, and as a result most of the actual soldiers were just that soldiers. Many of the officers and superior ranks were from the indoctrinated aspect of the Nazi party, many of the soldiers were just people following orders."

I'm tending ot think along the same lines here as well . Also having deep concerns about people not used ot 24 hour events trying ot rough it out in midwinter with period kit. I do it in full modern stuff and it's still tough even though I camp all year round for fun . I suspect the event could be strongly overshadowed by the time of year.

Yes roughing it in Winter is not good... you better have good first aiders around and a hospital nearby!

Its a good point... Nov and roughing it... I may just say no because of that single issue.

A lot will depend on if they have any buildings to camp in , & what state they are in , or if it's tents only . I think trying ot do period camping as we are at CR in November would be too risky for all but a few diehards. An early site recce is going ot be a must for this event .

I did one night camping in March in Southend this year... froze my bollocks off and that was in a modern tent. The people in the period tents actually faired better!

Ah you bunch of gays....

Gadge, stuff has moved way on past that stuff you are reading. We have a meeting set up next week to discus things face to face, not guess work and supposition.

This bloke is able to arrange, finance and run big events that are way beyond what is practical for us - the least we can do is explore new opportunities in a professional and open minded way.

Just noticed someone on the forum has said "and I'm going to the Nov WW2 game but that's not a CiA event"

When are we going public about our support?

Yes, I saw that.

I am in the process of exchanging artwork with Gunman for publicity.
No reason why we can't go public straight away so I suppose formulation of a press release is in order.

Just as an aside it's nice that people are making the differentiation, . Our branding work is paying off.

Erm, slightly cheeky question, but are we getting comps for this event?

Thing is, if I have to pay it's an immediate no for me as I can't afford
