Depends on the game. On this one everyone will leave on Saturday. Only Friday camping.
sounds like it would good coming up Friday to help out and then have a beer or three. will have to check my rota see if I can..
Sure. Just let us know when you are coming. We can always use a hand or two for set-up.
final question for the time being(!) I normally carry a pistol on a belt holster (I know officers normally had belt holsters not privates). do I ditch it for this event? To be honest I hardly ever use it as I'm a rubbish shot with a pistol!
I'm sure I can get up there to help out may try to do the Thursday night shift at work so can come up help/sleep/drink/help/sleep..
Well, I would say ditch it for the game especially if it does not give you much anyway. We try to get a close to the old days as possible without trying to make it too difficult for everyone (no real re-enactment). At the end, it is just a game. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
cool I am totally for it being a game don't worry ... I really only carry the pistol for the look and feel (sad I know)
Are grenades available at the site or do I need to purchase before hand?
All the best Paul
I'm a bit asynchronous at the moment due to kids holidays and being out and about last week and next...
The site owner 'may' sell some pyro on site but this hasn't been confirmed yet - best option is to buy & bring your own if you want to carry some
I know you guys would like as many rifles as possible for this event, unfortunately I won't be able to use the Garand being over the FPS limits and I don't want to strip it down again as it is a pain in the ass.
So, I'll be bringing a Thompson, MP40 and hopefully if my K98 functions properly after repairs, I'll be bringing that too. Is it ok for Airborne units to use german weapons that they have 'captured' having lost their leg bags to the prop blast?

Those would be fine mate, we would like as many people as possible to use rifles if they have them (+ the ammo limits will be strictly enforced!) but if you only have an AEG then that is fine.
Captured German weapons would be ok, you're correct in that many paratroopers lost their weapons so had to 'acquire' a firearm from the enemy
Another question, do you guys have a map of the site? Would be nice to put something in my map case.

We'll be supplying maps, so don't worry - you'll get one on the day.

Worth fetching a spade for the mines?
Worth fetching a spade for the mines?
More of a job for the engineer squad Jay, but it probably wouldn't hurt to carry a spare in your squad.
well i bet not 1 of our lot will have a spade lol
but on a more serious note if you using our sweeper/ maybe sweepers i not sure if any in cuffs squad know how to use them , but maybe martin can show them in the morning
I can fetch one, just need to find it.
Sorry if this info has already been posted. Are we lunching in the field? If so will there be a place where we can leave it or would it be better to just carry it with us?
Regards,
Ralph
Its food on the hoof , no planned meal break , it will be up to your squad leader to decide at the time but i'm sure he will want to put his feet up for a few minuites as well at some point , the Germans will have bases so might be able to leave some kit but as a rule only bring what you can carry into action.
We are planning on having aditional water so you can keep your canteens topped up and don't have to carry a gallon on you all day but bring enough to get you started as what we supply will not be infinite.
armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
OK, thanks mate.
I do prefer staying in the field for lunch as I find it keeps the immersion going.
Regards,
Ralph
so to be clear allies wont have any bases to leave kit etc ? its carry all you need with you ?
cheers
