Unfortunately we couldn't arrange camping at Close Action for this date - the camping facilities are restricted and FC rules quite strict. We could have pressed on regardless and asked players to stop at local campsites or B&Bs, or travel up very early on the Sunday. This would have meant missing out on the social element and put distant players to great inconvenience so we have bitten the bullet and made other arrangements.
We still intend to hold an event at Close Action in 2011 on a date that will allow camping but for this event we are switching to Cerberus Airsoft's most excellent site at Keighley, Yorkshire.
We will be using 120 acres of their 600 acre forest near Keighley in the heart of Yorkshire. Set on one of the highest hills in the area and backing onto Ilkey Moor it overlooks Keighley. The view from the plateau is incredible, on a clear day you have a stunning 40 mile view over amazing Yorkshire countryside.
The site has some steep slopes, rocky outcrops and bluffs, huge boulders and natural hollows, roads, tracks, streams, caves and trees, millions of trees.
And now for the second part of the announcement. To make the best of this site and to assist those travelling a fair distance we are making this a weekender event with usual CiA social on Saturday night.
This is a fantastic site and fits the scenario perfectly and we are looking forward to this immensely.
Please don't jump in with questions just yet as they will be answered in briefings to follow shortly...
