I'm going to be wearing my M43s and buckle boots and I was wondering whether I would be better off going PIR or GIR, any thoughts?

How about the simple PIU - Pete In Uniform ![]()
PIR for the balance. ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Yep I agree with Steiner go PIR

If your M43 trousers have side pockets and leg ties, then PIR. If not, then GIR.

thanks pete, there all going to be dead infantry either way,
we glorious germans only need to know the differance, so we can put up the right grave markers, as we will be the ones burying you

"Parachute infantry and Glider infantry."
I think strictly PIR is 'Parachute Infantry Regiment' as in 506th PIR, so an individual might be a 'PI'
Anyway, I'm German too, so they are all just Amis to me.
IIRC during Market Garden, Heinz Harmel (CO of KG Frunsdberg), thought for several days that the Guards Armoured Div were Americans too. One green Shermans looks much like another I suppose.
