Since the reformation of the Doughboys as a "standard infantry" only group, the members list probably needs to changed.

Here's who I have so far in the list:

webby
Yith
Wladek
Lipton
marsha
TARPEY
Tug Wilson
Pete_59
Devonshire Trooper
Barrie and Anne
ILoveLamp

Please post if you want to join. The kit requirements are standard, just post D-Day, infantry kit with 1st Div and 82nd Div 325th GIR as the two preferred units. A full guide to this will be posted in time.

The one rule so far is that if you go to an event and intend to play as a member of the Doughboy group then you MUST dress in the assigned kit. e.g. no being a Ranger if the day is for GIRs... etc...

There's a kit guide for Rangers on the CiA website, which is good enough for now. We can get a standard infantry one up at some point, but I don't think it's that different:

Yup... that would do.

Only real preferred difference would be wool trousers and shirt, but HBTs will do as well.

Don't forget us.

We have generic infantry gear and we like the re-invigorated new Doughboys direction.

This is starting to look a good list :good:

These wools do get everywhere though. I shall be remaining in HBTs I am afraid, though you can always pretend I'm wearing wool beneath them.

We've not thought about that yet! It's certainly a possibility.

They've been around for a while, but until recently they were an all-encompasing WW2 US airsoft group.

The activity was much reduced and it was almost as though they didn't exist.

Just in the last few months things changed. We chucked out the para stuff and got down to having proper doughboy kit only... We found new direction and purpose and some new leaders took over as several of the previous ones had given up airsofting.

Since then there has been a lot more activity on this forum. There hasn't been an event for the "new" doughboys yet, the training event in May will be the first one.

Yeah, you're more than welcome to borrow 1 of mine. Perhaps you might be able to give some valuable insight into period drills etc.

Hehe, it might be worth a giggle, get people to have a better awareness about the extremeties of their gun!

Do you know any battle drills? I have a book on WW2 Infantry Combat tactics, but it mostly covers the usual things that everybody knows

I have a few of those in PDF.

FM22-5 Infantry drill regs

I've got this and have learned basic foot and rifle drill from it. Was planning on doing fairly basic teaching on the day. Most would have a struggle just marching, never mind spinning their rifle above their head. I've done the basic order, shoulder and present with my M1 and had no problems.

FM7-10 Rifle Co. Infantry Regt

I have this... I understand someone will be looking at it for the event? lipton?

FM21-75 Scouting, Patroling & sniping

We have this one as well.

There was also a Conference course series issued in '43 'Training bulletins' - really a pictorial supplement to FM7-10, some great sketches (picture tells 1000 words and all that)

I don't have that

theres some other good ones like 'fortified positions & combat in towns' etc

Not sure about these.

Along the way I've picked up some good signal corps B&W training movies too - they're both informative and in places side splitingly funny

oh yes, we like that sort of thing.

I have just sent Webby the links for the pdfs of the field Manuals, after tracking them down from my history. If anyone else is interested then PM me and I'll send them your way. :good:

And welcome Stamper.

How would the portrayal if a different regiment differ within a division? I ask for my own general interest as one of the main Ideas is that we would change our impression to be correct for the games we are attending as the only main difference would be another divisional badge.
