... how the heck does one wear it?? :? So many straps and buckles, I'm very confused. :oops:

you can wear it in several ways. I normally have it slung round my neck, with the GM bag across my chest.

As for buckles etc - where did you get it? there are several repro's on the go and they have slight differences

OK, OK... maybe there was a bit of poetic licence using the term "buckles"... :oops:

Can't figure it out. The straps lend themselves to wearing it like a conventional Heer one, at the back. However, the only photos I've seen of them show them being worn at the front, on the upper chest. I can shorten the straps enough to do this, but what does the hooked strap attach to?? :?

I think the length of the straps is not quite right to allow it to be on the chest, so I'll be wearing mine on the back.
