Again,as said havent checked for a long while but the best repros for the money used to be the old Indian Deepak made ones, spot on shell shape and liner looked good and fitted spot on BUT the one thing that put a lot of people off(easily sorted) is thet the stitching/seam on the liners ran front to back as apposed to left to right as they should.

I'm hoping this helmet from militariaonline.com will be OK. To be honest I couldn't really find many reviews for the site so I've got fingers crossed that they're legit and I should have a nice sand coloured helmet that is the right shape.

I tried on all my kit tonight and it's looking OK once it's all together. -- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

I drilled holes below the bolt slots on my liner to it sat deeper in the shell and it now sits better BUT the shell is all wrong - I've emailed them today saying I messed with the liner etc but the basic shell shape is all wrong, and it differs from the one on their website I asked for either a refund or correct shape line and had a reply earlier saying they value my comments about the shape and will get back to me tomorrow about refund/exchange.

I would certainly email them and tell them your not happy - there customer service is pretty spot on

Yeah they're customer service is pretty good and I'll return the helmet after Sunday as long as it doesn't get too scratched.

Bit of bad news about militariaonline.com. I found someone know Google saying that they have ordered from them before and didn't receive their goods at all. Emails and calls were ignored. Looks like that's £50 down the drain :slap:

Ralph

Sounds like a plan, I'm hoping I can get a refund or new shell from them....

Oh sh*t! Could you not claim it back?

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now but if nothing by next week I'll have to contact the bank. It was an old review so they might have changed their ways.

Ordered a helmet cover from epic today with a view to staining it in tea but the cover is too big to the point where the hooks keep unhooking themselves! Got to laugh at these things. I've had a little idea of taking the hooks out of it and sewing them into my splinter b cover so maybe it'll fit fine, maybe.

Regards,

Ralph

which cover did you order? they sell a really wierd one that gives the helmet a skirt as it hangs over the edge...

had an email back and they cant return/refund me but they have give me £10 of my next order... i've put mine up for sale on here but a friend of mine isn't doing fj any more so i'm hoping i can bodge epics correct liner into his old helmet and end up with something half decent....

It was listed as a summer camo cover. I thought it was just a plain splinter cover and would do till I got a proper helmet. Richard Underwood seems to sell decent helmets and I'm pretty happy with my kit from him so far.

At least epic are trying to do something about it. Pretty good they gave you money off.

Ralph

Richard underwood has quality control and if something isn't up to stand he sends it back. Thats why you should be careful when ordering form epic or sof

Good news! The helmet from militariaonline.com arrived, despite the bad reviews I've read about them. Aaaaaand it's smaller than the epic helmet so my splinter b helmet cover fits. Very happy and I'll be sure to return the epic helmet.

Ralph

Looking good mate. You planning on going as fj to Reichswald by any chance?

My second splinter b cover from luftwaffe supplies turned up today. This one has hooks, the other has a draw string. Which one was most common? I'll sell the one that I'm not using.

Regards,

Ralph
