I'm planning to get a new K98 bandolier and since I'll be ordering my smock from Spearhead I was wondering what his are like.
I'm particularly interested in the sizing as my current bandolier is too short for me, in order to attach it to the belt I have to pull my belt right up which looks daft or the whole thing pulls down on the back of my neck.
Does anyone on here own one? Would you be able to give me some rough sizes?
No, I don't have one but have you considered that you might be wearing your belt too low? (I'm not being facetious!) If you use D-rings (and I know you do), then this will lower it another few inches. I recently had to make a number of new holes in the back and front of my Lufty Y-straps (to bring the belt up a good few inches higher) because I had decided to use D-rings. If you look at period photos (particularly early war), FJ seem to wear the belt slightly higher than Heer / SS anyway - certainly at solar plexus level. ![]()

That was indeed part of the problem actually. Thanks for pointing that out.
I do still think its is a touch too short to be completely comfortable but it is an improvement.
I still plan to get a new one though as I fancy a plain green one for an earlier war look so the measurements would still be useful. I've read that alot of the chinese bandoliers tend to be made in midget sizes which could be more problematic.
lol, they do Dot44 ones!
Have you considered Epic for the smock, btw? I'm very pleased with mine (Sturm), and you get 5% discount.

I'm after a splinter smock (I love splinter B
)so Spearhead is the best choice for that. I want to get a grey/green bandolier so I can use that for any period and then get a green smock should there be a suitable early war scenario.
Looks like barry has brought out new Splinter smocks which are getting pretty good reviews. On the subject of your bandolier if its a Sturm one it seems they may be a bit short. Noticed a couple of FJ guys on the Pst forum saying the same thing.
