Not even March yet and I'm nearly foaming at the mouth already. :o

Just sewn some braces buttons on my wools, I'm actually learning something useful in this hobby it seems. :D

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

Know the feeling. I played at the site last weekend which made it even worse. It is a really great site.
Was good testing out equipment. I know why to wear Y-straps now.

Andy learned to sew because of the need to add tresse and insignia to his tunic, he's so good at it now that he handmakes Frau Steiner's dresses

I'm more than a little disappointed at not making it myself, would have been nice to learn the site a bit and pick out some positions for the MG. Made it all the way from Wales to be turned back on the home stretch by flooding, :(

:giggle: Not sure I could make dresses yet

i love NOT knowing the site at ww2 games , it really helps set the atmosphere for me , as a soldier you would rarely have more than maps of an area , if i know the site it makes it harder to suspend disbelief .

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

Ahem... well now that secret is in the open... they're not Frau Steiner's dresses; they're mine.

I have the Northern WW2 Association weekend at Eden Camp to keep me going before Foy, going with Grossdeutschland. Should be interesting.

Cheers

Yes Andy is commanding our uber elite pioneer heavy weapons squad, overall commander is currently unknown, it may be Gadge or possibly Josh himself :D

While I remember to mention it, I habitually wear a small silver Saint Christopher around my neck. I'm happy to take it off if it doesn't fit in a 1944 Landser impression, but if it's not going to spoil anything I'll keep it on. Anyone able to offer an answer?

I wear a St. Christopher, in silver, that my Grandad carried with him during the relief of Kohima, through to the recapture of Rangoon. I'd imagine seeking solace in the almighty was one of the great unifying factors of fighting men of all nations.

The ECW Irish Brigade tattoo on my wrist, on the other hand, is a little more difficult to explain belonging to a plucky Landser.

I can only echo what Allenby said. In fact my Grandpa was drafted in 1938 because he was a catholic teacher. He was 37 then. Therefore I think it rather adds to the impression. ...and as I learned we are very much made of Austrians which are very catholic as well. Gott mit uns!

Bear in mind this is Airsoft, not re-enactment, I am sure a St Christopher won't matter.

I'm not planning on taking out my earrings, and my lock top box of dried fruit and nuts to keep me going during the day is distinctly 'modern'.

Cheers
