Hello there chaps,
rather ancient chap seeking to join in with the fun. (ok nearly 39).
I have Brit kit for Int Corps, plus other assorted gubbins and have been a reenactor for more years than I care to imagine. I did notice an earlier thread showing off about different uniforms well mine includes Medieval, 21eme sapeur, 42nd Highlander (latter 2 Napoleonic), bits of ECW, bits of ACW somewhere and WW2....(anyone fancy doing airsoft against a 16.5mm blackpowder musket ?) ;-)
I digress, I have been wondering what kit should I think of acquiring? Thompson? Colt 1911 as no-one makes stens/No4s unless you're paying

All depends on the look you want really mate.

The thompson is the default aeg for allies at the moment.

I'm using an mp40 for my airbonre loadout now as captured kit.

Just wondering are you planning to run some events outside school term-noticed that you're a teacher like myself (and also at a grammar school-must be something in the water!) as unfortunately I'm nay too keen on doing things in school time? BTW I am sorely tempted by the Marui M1A1 and a Colt 45....

So what regiment/corps were you thinking of doing Andy, sticking with int corps?

I can see plenty of potential for putting an int corps 'advisor' in on the ground in scenarios.

I'm only badged up as a corp-thought anything else would be a bit presumptious to start with (seen the threads about rank on the WW2 forum?) but yes certainly does give scope. My BD is badged up as 49th Div (Polar Bears) but could easily get covered up. I also have a denison (KC one), para beret (Sangreal was selling up so got a load of stuff on the cheap) as well as my cap Gor Blimey (GS) (and that thing has got to be the ugliest thing ever invented!), have Mk2 helmet but will certainly investigate your source of RAC helmets!

thanks for the welcome chaps. My school has an outward bound centre at Tosside (honest) North Yorks-right in middle of Gisburn Forest, I am hoping.....(there's a bit of history to why I am only hoping rather than promising that it could be used)

that marui tommy gun is very sexy isn't it? Oh heck....

Yea, and also 1 of Marui's most accurate AEGs too!

Can't go wrong with one, TM 1911 is also a blinking powerful sidearm to have!

Glad of another 'old codger' in the ranks !! (I'm the wrong side of forty myself)

Don't think of it as age - think of it as 'Operational Experience' 8)

Btw, I'm selling a Thompson myself, although I've had a lower, 'provisional' offer on a reduced package ....

Don't do it!

I've got a KSC 1911 and have had no end of trouble with it. (Pretty much all the other KSC guns are good though!)

For a 1911 I suggest you get a WE or a TM.
