ooo... btw guys... which pattern of denisons have you gone for?
nope, sticking with people i know...if matt doesnt run off to fast ![]()
hehe ![]()
just for info who/what is Sanjay?
h right, would he be recommended for a skint student? ![]()
The cheapest way to do airborne Brit is a belgian denison smock, maroon beret and webbing from warren at shootnscoot with a pair of standard brown/green trousers and ideally some gaiters Not 100% accurate, but good enough for airsofting...
Thats more or less what I have on in the publicity pics.
Absolute minimum is probably the denison and beret, with pretty much any non-modern webbing...
would i be able to get away with any us webbing stuff..just as a money thought and getting my WAC battledress this weekend too .
HEB
get yourslef to 'squaddie' in nottingham.
Its a shop in a little arcade near the library, bit tricky to find but its up the road form habitat and up a side arcade on the right next to a newsagents opposite the library
they have some belgina densions in your size for 30 quid... absolute bargain.
Or get someone to pick one up for you.
If my lodegr gives me the rent in time i could poissibly get it for you but i'd recomend trying it on first for 30 quid....

I will be doing an Arnhem kit guide very soon.

Gadge thanks, not sure if i can make it there though, i don't live in Nottingham anymore. but i'll bear it in mind and see if i can get someone to pick something up for me, short of that ill see where matt got his stuff from.
Cheers

Would you like me to run one up while im at work mate?

Heb, do you still need a dennison? I might be able to sort you a cheep sanjay one if itd the right size.

Hi guys n gals. Didnt want to start a new thread for this so apologies if it seems like I've hi-jacked this one.
I have my heart set on a British WW2 loadout. Final decider was Gadge's post about there being a lack of numbers portraying British soldiers. My question is, I am happy to conform to a set list of gear and patches to join the ranks (hey, must be the soldier in me) but I was also considering representing my local regiment as a mark of respect. Would this in any way affect my accessibility or invites to CiA game days at all? Be honest as I also feel that there's a lack of actual coherent units in airsoft these days.
Many thanks,
Mark.
Play as what you like at CiA games
For PBI games we all play as South Staffords, 2 Commando or Hallamshire Battalion depending upon the scenario.
If you want to be par tof a coherent unit I can only suggest joining PBI as its the only Brit unit other than Gunmans 47 commando guys at the moment.

Thanks for the prompt reply Gadge. Much appreciated. I'm sure a quick patch and beret change depending on whether I'm at a local open day or a PBI game wouldnt be too much to handle anyway. I cant imagine there would be a huge world of difference between the Staffs and one of the Worcestershire regiments? Well not a whole loadout anyway ![]()
Thanks Gadge. Will continue reading up on the PBI threads.
Well airborne is easy enough to chop and change. In general its just cap badge as the denison has no insignia on it.
I'm not sure is any worcestershire regiments were converted to airborne role.
Off memory (books are upstairs) you have.
Border reg
KOSB
RUR
Staffords
Devonshires
Perhaps a better bet would be corps personnel.
If you're family are reme why not put a staffs badge on for battles with us and a REME capbadge (light airborne workshop) for open days?

Thats a bloody good idea Gadge!
Yeah, my brief research has shown a division in the 6th Airborne called the 53rd Worcestershire Yeomanry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen%27s_ ... re_Hussars
But that will be a side project that will need more researching. In the meantime a REME Staffs loadout sounds spot on

Cool if you want to play 75mm pack howitzer crew! They were a Royal Artllery Light unit ![]()
I'm no expert on them but they are in the RA detachment of 6th airbornes orbat and listed as a 'light regiment' (the light gun of the airborne being the 75mm pack howitzer), one can only presume they were converted from the yeomanry role.
6th Airborne light cav /recce role was performed by the armoured recce squadrons.
edit:
The Second World War
"By 1938 a new war with Germany was near and the Regiment was chosen to convert into an anti tank Regiment. Its eighteen-pounders were replaced by two-pounders and the 53rd Worcestershire Yeomanry Anti-tank regiment R.A. came into being. This Regiment consisted of four batteries; the 209 at Kidderminster, the 210 and 212 at Kings Heath and the 211 at Bewdley.[23]"
So more likely 6pdr crew then!

Ah yeah. Thanks. Like I say, I have only put a bit of research into it
Sorry.
*Lopes off to check Airsharp.com for 6pdr plans*
