Nah i mean dont get me wrong its a cool idea.
6th Airborne ae a bit more regimented but if you did RA in 1st then any Arnhem scenario you're incredibly likely to just be fighting on foot with the lads after losing all the AT guns etc.
I still think REME is the way forwards... plus it will be a tribute to your folks!

I didnt take any offence Gadge, just regretted looking a tad un-educated compared to the combined knowledge on here
And you are absolutely right, a REME loadout would be ideal. I can stay PBI and give a well-earned salute to the old man
Thanks for your time and advice Gadge. Its very much appreciated. Will definitely consult you chaps before I buy anything (already regret purchasing a set of Pattern 44 webbing before registering here
)
Ah 44 patterns cool for now.. when you can be bothered upgrade (or retro grade) to the 37 or we can prob lend you a set (i've got three sets... )
As for knowledge, well i'm *constantly* learning... i had no idea they converted yeomanry to Anti tank until tonight so you've shown me something.
We're looking to have a PBI training day end of Jan, if you wanted to come to that once its sorted out you'd be welcome.

That would be absolutely top hole
I'll keep a keen eye out for details on that event and will start getting the basics together. Can make do with a Thompson for the moment until I get my grubby hands on a SMLE. Or a Bren....hmmmmm

So THAT'S where all the Stens went. ![]()
