There's a difference between shooting someone with a rifle at range and sniping.

Not for me there isn't, I can't do either. :lol:

Yes, it is. Far more worthwhile (and satisfying!) to be able to call in the artillery, or an airstrike, than it is to wait ages to shoot one man.

I think many who glamourise sniping would be deeply disappointed in the non hollywood reality of it. Shooting is only one seventh of the course, after all.

Nor can I.

I think a lot of people who call themselves airsoft "snipers" just don't like getting hit and prefer having a gun that keeps them out of AEG range. There's also that Lone Wolf L33t SniPa thing which seems to appeal to certain people but which goes against what I consider to be WW2 style game play.

Hmm. I remember such a L33t sniper at an open day. He was very well camouflaged in his position, just before the game started.
"Great setup, mate, but they'll be coming from over there." I said, pointing directly behind him! :slap:
