Very nice colours, weird repro though, a hybrid of three types of denison

1st patern cuffs, 2nd pattern tail and 1946 zipper (war ones are half zip)

A lot of effrost gone into making minor detials liek the press studs and stitching right only to stuff it up wiht a mahooosive thing liek the zip!

weird

Yeah, these appeared a few weeks ago... They've been discussed on the wwii re-enacting forums here: http://www.wwiireenacting.co.uk/forum/v ... hp?t=34616

Different seller... same product and price.

...1946 zipper (war ones are half zip)

or it could be an officer's converted denison...

Its also possible for a 2nd pattern to have wool cuffs added on afterwards... its not unknown.

However a strange choice for a first repro. Would have been better to do straight forward 1st or 2nd pattern!

(btw I just split this discussion off as I can see it going into too much detail for the other topic)

I just thought it might be a nice option for anyone looking to get one just for airsoft without stitch counting or paying out loads of money one.

Good idea to move the thread btw.

oh yes... it certainly does look good for airsoft! :)

Probably better than a replicaters but we'd need to see them first hand to be sure!

It's definately better than a Belgian denison!...

If he did a half zip version then I'd have probably bought one already!! lol

Yeah same here, i'm nto saying its not a good purchase it just seems weird to go to ultra detail liek the press studs (real stich counting) and then put in a full zip.

Bit liek making velceo closure waffen ss smocks out of perectly printed period fabric.

Thats why i comment cos they would have sold hundreds at that price to re-enactors with a half zip.

Nice looking smock if not 100% for WW2.
Price is right too and looks better than the alternative Belgian,Replicaters and What Price Glory ones.

Granted not 100% but at least the Chinise/HK guys are at last getting on the Brit side of things so cannot be bad as im sure in time their stuff will improve as has the German kit so im all for them-Good Show Chaps

Just suppose everybody needs to promote themselves to Ruperts   :

Another thread... this time with someone in this country owning one.
http://wwiireenacting.co.uk/forum/viewt ... p?p=458681

From what I can gather the guy copied one that he was sent... unfortunately that one was a modified officer's one. Now he's got tons of these and is reticent to make a second batch of "correct" ones until these sell...

Its catch 22 really...

What if he converted the ones he already has to a half zip?

Would look sort of like a 2nd patt but with cuffs maybe?

Yes... not far off... though it wouldn't be perfect. Second pattern has a single panel below the zip... if you did that conversion you'd have two panels.

Hmmm may have got that the wrong way around... lol
